DF Modding / Demon Adventurer's

Can someone mod it so that I can play a Demon Adventurer without it making whole Demon Towns...  I can't seem to get that to work.

Bonus points if you can start off a demon adventurer with a backpack.

Not a huge deal, but Dwarf Fortress beat out a ton of other games for being the best Roguelike of 2007.  A very informal victory, but a victory nonetheless.
