Curses / Repairing Clothing
« on: September 09, 2008, 09:55:06 pm »
Could "Repair Clothing" be added to the list of tasks to assign in bulk? It's really annoying to set six people to do it the hard way, and I often wind up with lots of armor that I've acquired from the Conservative automata and want to collect the proper tax on.

Curses / Military Base
« on: August 14, 2008, 02:59:08 am »
This idea has been suggested before, but we really need a military base location (and the idea deserves its own topic).

If you're ballsy, this is an excellent place to recruit troops and requisition equipment for the Liberal Cause, and shutting it down could limit the military's ability to support a police siege.

Probably necessary if a Military issue comes out, of course, and even if not, Sensitive Records from the place will touch on issues like homosexuality (duh), nuclear power, gun control, policing and genetic research ("next-generation soldiers").

Curses / Squashing the CCS: too effective?
« on: August 14, 2008, 01:06:53 am »
I have to wonder if it's a good thing that you can easily and permanently remove the CCS from circulation just by knocking off a few safehouses. Once the CCS starts up, if you kill them off, they're as dead as the LCS, and the only thing stopping you is the easily-overpowered Conservative Media.

Should there be some way for the CCS to return after being bugstomped?

Curses / LCS: "Just a means to an end..."
« on: March 17, 2005, 03:02:00 am »
Since I have nothing better to do, I decided to see if I could come up with a way for the LCS to forget what they're working for and just blow stuff up...

Then it came to me. The ultimate nightmare of any Conservative dedicated to the war against terrorism: A nuclear bomb.

Yes, I know the Liberals are anti-nuclear activists, but they're also anti-gun and that doesn't stop them from going armed, so hey.

I figure that the Libs would first have to enter the Reactor Core (new event space, requires Security unless anyone has a better idea for the skill) after it was turned off, and steal the Nuclear Material (this counts as Treason and Alienates Everyone at the nuclear plant...), then takes some actions Building a Bomb. Once the bomb is built, use it, and another city dissolves in a fireball. (Yes, I know, a real terrorist nuke is more likely to just be a dirty bomb. We can ignore that and do it with a bang!)

Results? Aside from pissing off the Corporations, Police and CIA to the max, I have no idea. It should probably have very wide-reaching effects, though, not entirely positive ones either. Could raise the electability of the user if we were doing Presidential Elections (military threat), and of course raise Nuclear Fear, but if anyone else has any ideas on how it could help...

Curses / Crash
« on: November 01, 2004, 10:03:00 pm »
The game has a habit of crashing on me at various points...The game this occurred, what I know was happening was that I'd botched things (deliberately spending 20+ years in prison) and had all but police brutality at Arch-Conservative.

[What is happening?]

Curses / Police Gang Unit

Is there any in-game difference between a police gang unit and a police officer, or is it just a sign that you're screwing up on cop control?

Curses / Tom Clancy in LCS?
« on: September 26, 2004, 07:32:00 pm »
I was reading over the ancient, musty tome of the LCS 3 thread, and when I looked over the discussions on, A, what happened when you wanted promotion from LCS Founder's chief aide position, B, how to send people to other cities to do dirty work there, and C, about the idea of a revolution in the LCS if you've got a coward leader, and an idea popped up.

We need to have splinter cells.

To form a splinter cell, my idea is that one would have to have one Liberal who's directly under the Founder, ideally one who's got a lot of juice and a lot of followers. Then, use the command "Form Splinter Cell." Select the cell's leader and name the cell. The new cell leader all her followers split off to become an entirely new group in another city.

This new group will serve several purposes. First off, the orientation would be either Debating, Activist, Militant, or Radical, starting at any except Radical. Debating groups sit around and argue against the establishment, which doesn't do much...oh, and are involved in drawing in money for the main LCS. Activist groups go out and do Liberal Disobedience on their own, Militant groups do much the same thing as the main LCS (which, abstracted, is quicker and more violent Liberal Disobedience), and Radicals are declaring open war against the U.S.A. and the Liberal Crime Squad (they're too soft to be True Liberals). Every month there's a chance of moving towards the radical end by one phase (which is based on your founder's juice and heart, mostly...a weak leader is going to get the splinters pissed off).

The advantage of the splinter cell is that it, at Debating, brings in money and avoids attack, while at Activist or Militant it changes public opinion on the issues for the better. However, there are several problems with this setup. At Debating and Activist, the cell won't suffer any shakeups, but at Militant, there's a chance each month of the group being attacked and destroyed. There's the same chance with Radical groups, but Radicals also -damage- public opinion on occasion (going on a rampage), and can also attempt to raid your compounds. Of course, you can also do your own raids on Radicals in an attempt to destroy them.

This is all a collection of unformed late-afternoon ideas, of course, particularly the Radical part. Feedback would be welcomed.
