DF Gameplay Questions / Prayer in Adventure Mode
« on: February 11, 2017, 09:59:34 am »
My elven adventurer has listed under his needs "Pray to Yawo" but pressing 'k' only gives the options "Begin a performance" or "Shout out to everybody". Now he is unfocused because of it. Help?

DF Gameplay Questions / Separation
« on: July 27, 2016, 10:35:16 am »
Relatively new fortress of about 30 dorfs. I've received a few migrant waves with some useful dwarves, but now pretty much everyone EXCEPT the original six (werelizard got the mason) is sad over "being separated from a loved one."

For example, my broker: "I am separated from Ilral Laudedpillars. I cannot give in to sadness."

This is his son, who lives elsewhere. Everyone is sad about their kid, or their niece, or their cousin, or sibling, or some other relation not at the fortress. It's getting to the point where people are slipping into depression and tantruming.

HOW DO I FIX THIS?

DF Gameplay Questions / Outpost liaison
« on: July 25, 2016, 02:22:09 am »
Playing version 40.something because I haven't gotten around to updating the game

My fortress has around 150 dwarves (about 20% I want to say are babies), a mayor (who likes cabinets), and a "baroness of Fortresscrystal" (my fortress is called Flagstable). The liaison has come as usual, but just wanders around. I haven't been able to make a trade agreement since the first fall. During the second year, the current baroness' mother inherited the barony, made some perfectly reasonable requests, and was tragically crushed by a falling floor. Human and elven diplomats meet with the baroness. The second caravan I gave up and switched mayors to make the liaison go away, but had the same issue a year later. This time he wandered outside during a siege. He wasn't following anyone (a civilian alert was active, so he couldn't have been) he just made a beeline for the outdoor meeting area and was promptly killed. Anyone know why this is happening?

Oh, and also a vampire managed to survive his execution (but I've made arrangements for a cave-in)
