DF Gameplay Questions / reanimated head stuck on tree

I dispatched some undead and a head flew off and landed on a tree and reanimated. The problem is my marksdwarves cannot kill it (took multiple shots and didnt die), my melee dwarves cannot reach it, and I cant build anything near the tree or chop the tree as my civilians flee as soon as they take sight of it.

Any tips for dispatching the treedwelling head of terror?

DF Gameplay Questions / accidentally named weapon

Hi,

I embarked with some weapons and armour. When I set up the squads I accidentally selected my best weapon for the symbol for the militia captain position. Now the holder of that position will not equip it (or anyone else), and when I try to add a specific weapon for him the list does not contain that weapon.

Anyone knows whats up?

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Micro siege

There was a siege event at my fort with only 1 invader - a dwarf bowman.
I sent out some soldier to deal with him, and the meanwhile i happened upon a goblin thief. Quickly got rid of him too. The "SIEGE" text now doesnt go away, sent patrols out to check map edges for lingering enemy but didnt find any.

Any tips? whats this 1 bowman raid? The previous raid was over 400 goblins.
How do I make the Siege event go away?

I have raided a nearby goblin settlement and nothing happened. They "didn't find anything".

To be honest I thought I would just go and eradicate the pests all around me, but I cant seem to find a way to attack them with intent to kill, and not steal.

Does anyone know if this option is planned for the future?

DF Gameplay Questions / some difficulty managing QSPs

I have set up a few quantum stockpiles for anything that get buggy when I use bins for them. I am faced with a strange problem, "store item in vehicle" jobs are super low priority jobs, meaning sometimes months go by before anyone gets to it. I set up burrows for some of the stockpiles that were overflowing and made a dorf stay in that burrow. It started to work, as no other jobs were at hand they started filling the QSP. But now im watching a dwarf doing nothing for days - because the task to store item in vehicle doesnt appear in the jobs list. If the tasks would generate as they should, it would take only a few minutes getting the piles in order.
There was one time I have no idea what happened but at least 10 tasks generated at once, but after that only 1-1 tasks generate for long times - again.


Does anyone have a working solution for managing QSPs? Am I doing something wrong?
