(First part)

Castle

Like before, the thing that brought a group together for this situation was hard to describe, akin to a tugging at one’s very essence, and like before, the breach that resided in the Throne Hall was smoked with what appeared to be smog. Unlike before, however, the breach didn’t tear itself open once people had approached it, and even showed the world present on the other side: A nighttime view of the Sparrow Inn, coupled with a Shrine Maiden leaning next to the still destroyed front gate, quite clearly fast asleep.

It seemed as though the breach was content to simply wait until people came through this time around, only reacting once someone actually came forward to interact with it. At that point, instead of merely sucking everyone in like the last time, the breach merely brightened, enveloping everyone in a flash of light before quickly dissipating and closing, having successfully grabbed it’s chosen recruits.

Sparrow Inn

In the brief time since their departure, Ako had found herself in a constant state of worry. The Boss, bless his heart, had offered her a free room for the night as thanks for her help with clearing out the Inn of demons, but even though it was tempting, Ako couldn’t sleep while Nippon was still at risk. And she had vowed to stay where she was while the others returned ‘home’ temporarily to reprepare. So, naturally, she ended up pacing for several hours in front of the Inn, and naturally, she also ended up passing out next to the gate, having leaned against it for a short rest before immediately falling asleep.

And clearly, she was rather heavily in her slumber, as she never even flinched when a loud pop rung out in the air as the group suddenly appeared a few feet above the nearby Origin Mirror, staying up there for a few moments before gravity did it’s work.

Prologue: Calm before the Storm.

"With half of her power, the goddess created the land of Manoran, from the deepest caves to the highest mountains. With the rest, she created its inhabitants, the people of Lotis and Orthula. Despite being lost without the goddess, the people of Manoran lived in peace and unity... Until the Black Dragon arose from the sea, heralding a storm of darkness that would wipe the world clean of his mortal enemy..."
An excerpt from “Ragnarok”, written by Angelo de Cavilaire

OOC

It was no surprise that Manoran was experiencing tense times. Once the King and Queen of Lastreodal were dead, talks of a potential war from Cestulon began arising, both due to Cestulon getting more daring with their policies towards Lastreodal, and for the fact that people believed they were a direct part of it, which wasn’t too surprising giving the two kingdom’s rivalry. In addition, there was the Cult, continuously attacking parts the border villages of Lastreodal, especially those near the River Vein.

But despite all of the problems that they monarchy faced, there was one thing those related to royalty could rely on. A comfortable life of luxury, without a worry for the rest of the world.

“And that makes six since we started. Got any more books packed Gun?”

“No, unless you care about romance novels or autobiographies.”

“... Why do you have-”

“I’ll take that as you not caring.”

… Unfortunately, the life of luxury back at the castle was not something that was able to be given now. As the Cult attacks grew more numerous and daring, so did Eydis’s annoyance at it, if mostly for the fact that she was expected to figure out how to deal with the problem from the safety of Alovine, as her father had done, and what every other ruler did. Well, she had a different solution that involved dealing with the problem herself. Which was why both she, Gunvald, and their retainers combined were currently trudging along a barren path in a collection of wagons (a large one for the group to travel in, another for Eydis’s Wyvern, and two for general supplies), all heading down to the border of Lastreodal where the Cult was last seen.

While Eydis was the one to act upon the idea, it was Gunvald who had suggested the course of action. It was difficult to track the Cult with military units, so why not send a smaller group to keep their tracks covered and raise less awareness? Granted, at the time he was talking about gathering trusted soldiers and the like to do it for them, but Eydis took it a different way. A way that meant going out with her retainers.

Fersand, on the other hand, was a different case. Unlike normal, where he’d simply shrug at the idea and say “go ahead”, or even argue about the idea, now he was far more active, laying out a route and times they could move at in order to avoid the rest of Lastreodal, and the Cult, realizing that their future leaders were putting themselves in danger. The routes were filled with detours to other villages to put up the act that they were simply a trader caravan, and the assassin himself had gone ahead for most of the trip to make sure the path was safe and without any bandits.

This was the fifth day of travel, and the second day that Fersand was gone.

“Anyways, to business, since it's been a long time coming. We should be reaching Pernrith tomorrow, unless we encounter any extreme delays. Before we left Alovine, I got news that the town had been experiencing some Cult related issues that haven’t seemed to escalate yet. I’m not sure if its rumors or another small time group trying to replicate their actions, but either way, that’s where we’ll start our search. The goal is to find anything related to the Cult, from old hideouts to members. As long as we can learn more about them, that will be enough. I’d like for us to keep a low profile while we’re there, if possible. The less attention we bring to ourselves, the less likely the Cult is to flee the city-”

“Why would they flee?” Eydis interrupted, leaning forward from her position, which was merely just sitting next to one of the wagon’s walls, “If anything, us being there should push them to act. They already killed Fath… The King and Queen, so they’ll probably see us as easy pickings” sh continued. It took Gunvald a second to react, but when he did, he prefaced it by letting out a sigh,

“We don’t even know if the Cult is connected to Father’s death. It’s entirely possible that Cestulon is responsible to the assassination.”

“Trust me Gun, they’re connected. I know it.”

Fire Emblem: Marks of Royalty

“Know, that for as long as my bones remain in this world, none of your history, your kingdoms, or your people will last. Be it in your lifetime, or the next, I shall return, and eradicate all traces of your taint. Enjoy the time you have earned with my 'death', human ‘heroes’. For my wrath is eternal.”
An excerpt from “Ragnarok”, written by Angelo de Cavilaire, based on true events.

IC is out!
In times long forgotten, the group known as the “Executors“ rose up to slay the Black Dragon, Ragnarok, who had long terrorized Manoran with its power and lust for blood. They were successful, using weapons gifted from the Goddess to save the world from the shadow that had threatened it for so long. Since then, humanity has long moved on, various new civilizations being grown by the efforts of the various heroes of history, several being lost to time, while others withstanding the wear of it. For this untold time, these kingdoms lived the ways humans did. They stayed to their communities, went to war, made peace, progressed through turmoil, and all the like. Until a bloody war tore the land apart, the perpetrators the people of Yastua, and the Kingdom of Lotis. While most documents detailing the war have long since been destroyed or lost, the aftermath has always been clear. The utter decimation of Yastua, and the short lived civil war between various factions of Lotis that created the two major kingdoms of Manoran, Lasterodal and Cestulon.

Ever since, the world has lived in relative peace. However, as history repeats itself, that peace is being threatened thanks to the acts of a single Cult. A cult that spends its time razing entire villages bordering Lasterodal and Cestulon, reciting their belief that they will bring the return of Ragnarok to Manoran. In normal days, the two kingdoms would have no issue dealing with a small Cult, but unfortunately these are no normal days, for the Kingdom of Cestulon is forced to handle a potential war with the remnants of Orthula… While Lastreodal has to deal with its recently dead King, and the temporary leadership of their children.

Rulebook and other stuff
Due to my reliance on other people, the rulebook We will be using is the Player's Handbook v2.2, along with a few changes, located here.

In addition to all of this, I have a few “rules” to put down.
-This is the first time I've actually ran a game of Fire Emblem, so I might be an idiot once in a while. Try to bear with me.
-I will be having twelve (originally ten) slots open, ten of which will be in the Prologue. The others will join later.
-I’m not good with rules. Just think of all the normal rules that you’d see in an RP.
-PCs will be starting as trainees, and while the Lords will start at a higher level, they will only level up once for every two levels the PCs get until the rest of the group manages to catch up. In addition, the Lords are able to be controlled however the players wish, as to give you guys the power, instead of keeping it for myself.

Other than that, uh… That’s all I got. Applications shall be open for about two weeks (8/27/19 at midnight, EST). After that, they will be closed, and I shall select the characters that I like the most. So yeah, good luck everyone.

Fluff!
Note: As other areas become known/I get more ideas, this list will be updated accordingly.
