DF Gameplay Questions / Having trouble finding the right temple in Adventure Mode

In the latest set of updates the wiki says temple curses have changed so that only toppling statues to gods which you actually believe in will do anything, though I'm having a lot of trouble finding any. Any tips? I only worship one god so It's incredibly difficult to find the specific temple..
