Curses / Bug/Glitch

I'm doing fairly well ingame. Had an apartment in University District get to 277% heat. It never went down and I never sent anyone there.

I got some corp-AM-radio memos, published. Got raided by Merks at those apartments. No one's there. They're sieging. Game won't move on. What do I do???

DF Suggestions / Mass Action Trap Setup

I love the way Toady and Co. managed to innovate the building system for WALLs and stairs and what not.

I'd like to see something similar in regards to traps and setting up mechanisms.
Like, choose an area to set up traps, fill out the appropriate mechanisms, components, and weapons... Much like the current build system.

Linking up mechanisms is a big pain in the ass, especially when there's more than twenty. I'd like to see something to the tune of: set an area, choose as many mechanisms as needed X 2 (one for the spike and one for the lever), have multiple mechanics working on the job at the same time. Makes ambitious trap design (and siegfried line making) easier.

26th Granite, 202, Early Spring

Journal of Zasit Mamotkol.

We've arrived on this glacier a few days ago and I'm eager to try out the alchemists formula on the smelters. The Crazy-Dwarf back home said he found a way to created a variety of things out of nothing -- of course when he mentioned that he found a way to created the coveted Adamantine without having to dig I naturally found myself curious. So he showed me that the process worked and all I had to do was prove it.
So I gathered six stout dwarves and we traveled to a land of ice and horror.
The great endeavor begins! We will have food and adamantine aplenty!

Petra's place...

From the Journal of Shorast Omvabok.

We arrived just last spring at Petra's Place. This... forlorn land in the midst of a volcano... reeks of sulfur and brimstone. The landscape is dotted with obsidian boulders and to be very honest, I don't like the feel of it. We're camped on a sheer cliff -- the river is a least fifty feet down a drop... ?i don't know why the expedition leader,  Sakzul, choose the name "Petra's place..."

I felt the lines of bad luck running through the rock.

Through out the spring and summer we've suffered ambushes by stupid kobolds. We killed them all. They were after the adamantium wafers... I myself strangled a thief and smiled brightly as his head popped off.

Sakzul had the idea of tapping into the volcano. So we dug a tunnel leading up to the vent. Then we tunneled above. All hell broke loose when we dug that last rock away and revealed the angry torrent of vengeful lava.

At that point we had a dug a channel around the perimenter of the camp. That filled with lava. And more overflowed...

Then someone got trapped in a pit we dug to get access to the river. One thing led to another. Five dwarves died trying to rescue one, and I finally did it. Expedition leader died. Hoardmaster died. Everyone. Except Kobuk and I. Bah! Just my luck.

My fort is at least five Z levels from the stream. I want to make a pond five Z levels from the stream.
I'm digging a great big hole in the mountain and wanna fill the entire thing with water.

I've heard that negative water pressure makes the water rise...
I've got something like that going down five levels...

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Bedroom Designs...

I'm looking to start a thread that contains the designs of the many bedrooms that are make. Quite frankly, the DF Wiki is rather sparse on ideas.

Fractal designs are especially welcome!

My design:
3x2 rooms, connected by a space. 4(3x2's) make one unit.

Save as to convert it back to BMP and then used paint zoom in. The pixels are 1x1.
