How the bloody hell do I play this?

A list of the controls would be nice...

Other Games / School Days Episode One Patch

The translator team has finally finished episode one of the game after about 2 bloody years, at this rate I predict that they'll be done sometime in 2050.

At least they're getting somewhere...

Play With Your Buddies / Let's Play Wizardry

I'm in the mood for a dungeon crawler.

Let's get started with the first wave of sacrifices.
Spoiler: Character Creation (click to show/hide)

I probably should be less blunt...

It really gets ridiculous when even the shopkeepers are legendary wrestlers...

Anyone went through a good one recently?

Currently due to it's freeware status, I'm going through the first episode of Umineko No Naku Koro Ni, and I'm finding it pleasantly more morbid than it's predecessor.

Life Advice / A Japanese Dictionary
« on: December 28, 2008, 01:53:39 am »
I recently got the "full demo" of the Shinji Ikari Raising Project, and as expected it's in Japanese.

Unfortunately even though I've studied enough to be able to romanize hiragana, and katakana, I cannot do much else in the matters of translation, this is primarily because my vocabulary within the language is limited to close to only a hundred, less if you remove any words without use. So may I ask if any of you are willing to assist in the task of expanding my vocabulary?

Other Games / Fallout I, II, & Tactics
« on: October 31, 2008, 08:07:43 pm »
I've been playing these great games lately, and was appalled at the fact that there wasn't any recent topic about them.

But a few basic rules first:
1. Keep spoilers in spoilers. (Punishment: A week in the box.)
2. Fallout 3, and Fallout: The Brotherhood of Steel go here. (Punishment: A week in the box.) (Also please note that Fallout: The Brotherhood of Steel, and Fallout Tactics: The Brotherhood of Steel are completely differnet, and posting FO:BOS in the Fallout 3 thread might not be appreciated.)
3. No off topic/Bethseda is the worst company ever. (Punishment: I will personally kill you myself.)

My stupid questions:
Spoiler: Fallout I (click to show/hide)

Spoiler: Fallout II (click to show/hide)

Oh, and anything to help improve the layout of this post would be appreciated.

DF General Discussion / Do you consider Dwarf Fortress to be a roguelike?
« on: September 12, 2008, 12:10:50 am »
One of the things that has always made me curious is the reason why Dwarf Fortress is considered a roguelike by many of people.

To me, and my opinions this is mostly absurd due to my thought of that it only got this title due to it's appearance of the usual ASCII that often reveals itself into the genre.

From my knowledge a roguelike is usually defined by these 3 characteristics:

1. Perma death: Although it bears it's face into the depths of the adventure part the game, the Fortress mode which mimics that of several city building entertainment programs is that of similer quality, and is common through the branch. Which causes it to be even on the balance.

2. Undiscovered item use: A necessary feature of many roguelikes that is tragically null in this build of Dwarf Fortress. In several rogues it is a major factor in the game's entertainments is to ponder if the bottle contains a fatal substance or the ability to rejuvenate you to health.

3. Dungeon diving: A basic that is at current unimplemented to the game. The majority of our locals are twisted descents into caves, forested lands with named trees, sparsely populated towers, and towns constructed by the humans. None of which present the basic principles of the basic dungeon.

That is all I have to give right now, and I would like to see your opinions on the matter.

Could anyone explain how these work? The wiki is outdated.

Slaves to Armok: God of Blood / I feel like a genius.
« on: June 25, 2008, 02:41:00 pm »
After somehow blowing up a tree with a spell, I wanted to get a nice pair of bark pants and I found something I completely didn't suspect... I found out that there are actually other weapons in Armok 1 :o (Specifically a sword and a hatchet)

Now I want to see if I can find a town <_<;;.

To make a long story short my legendary miner/engraver was upset that his wife died in a recent ambush lately and has been sad for a while, and so he decided to whine about it to the mayor in the middle of the dining room, in which time he decided to throw a tantrum destroying a table, and give the mayor a few mangled wounds, then he decided to rescue the mayor, only then after the rescue impale him with his pick a few times, and destroy the bed the mayor was on. For a few months later my miner has been conducting meetings every few times the mayor has slipped to consciousness.

And as of my miner has stopped whining about his wife dying all he does is hang around my mangled, unconscious mayor while being labeled as idle except when he gets hungry or thirsty, even though I have designated work for him. Quite simply to say it's driving me crazy and I don't want to train another miner/engraver for a year to get a dwarf as good quality as him...
