DF Bug Reports / [40a OSX] Dwarfs Refuse Refuse Jobs
« on: August 26, 2008, 10:30:58 am »
Started a fort in 40a.  Sometime in the second year I noticed miasma forming in the middle of a non-refuse stockpile (it was probably from dead vermin, darn cats).  This seemed odd since I had more than one non-full refuse stockpile designated, and I had a number of dwarfs idle who should have picked up the vermin corpse.

I checked to make sure my Dwarfs had the proper tasks enabled, they did, and that the proper Orders task was enabled, it was.  I started looking around the fort and saw bone and shell and dead vermin in several places.  My Dwarves had stopped collecting refuse.

I next looked at the job list and there were no refuse jobs there. So, despite what my title says (I just had to write it that way), the real issue appears to be that no refuse jobs are being generated.

Vanilla fort, only thing I changed from standard was pop cap.  I didn't do anything unusual nor did any other unusual events happen.

DF Gameplay Questions / Making Things From Particular Stone
« on: July 25, 2008, 03:22:29 pm »
Is there a way to designate the type of stone used to make things, for example doors, coffins, crafts, etc.?  For example, let's say I wanted all obsidian doors. Can I set my mason, or the mason's workshop, to only produce obsidian doors? Thanks.

DF Gameplay Questions / In a Meeting
« on: July 18, 2008, 11:07:15 am »
So one of my first immigrants was a Dyer, who was immediately tasked to something else (cook or brewer, I can't remember which). After working at the new job for a while, he ran out of material and so I made him essentially a hauler. This suited him for a while, but now he's decided to do nothing but attend meetings.

When I check the jobs screen, it says he's "attending a meeting" or similar verbiage (I'm away from that computer right now, so that's why alot of this is vague).  For a while, he was hanging out next to my carpenter, who was happily making barrels the entire time, and now he's standing in the doorway of some other dwarf's bedroom while the other dwarf sleeps.

Before he moved from the carpenter's shop to the bedroom, I disabled all tasks except stone hauling, for which there are plenty of jobs to be done.

Any thoughts?

(BTW, still using the last 38 version, I'm too new at DF to try and deal with all the 39 new bugs right now)
