DF Bug Reports / [40d] "Tame" Dragon attacks King
« on: January 29, 2009, 02:15:53 pm »
So, in my game, a dragon showed up, I caught in a cage trap, and the Dungeon Master tamed it. Everything was fine, the dragon wasn't killing all the dwarves.

Then, I met all the conditions to get the King, and when he showed up, the dragon went crazy and started attacking the King. And after killing him, he proceeded to attack everything in sight.

I am aware of the whole "Cannot be properly trained if it tasted Dwarven blood" thing, and then I remembered two things.

  • When the dragon showed up, it killed a furnace operator with fire. It never actually fought the operator, the dragon just blew fire at him, and he died in the heat.
  • The dragon did kill a stray war dog in melee combat before being captured.

Any ideas on what's going on?

Yes, it's another succession game, but with a twist! Everyone has read the challenges page on the wiki, specifically, the Great Brewery one, right? Well, that's what's going on. Brew as much alcohol as possible, and sell it to the caravans. You will have control of the fort for one year, and at the end of the year, you must write up a 'report' of the fort's current alcohol stock. The only thing this report needs is the number of individual drinks, and the total number, but if you wish, you can add other details. Maybe compare it to last years numbers.

This fort possesses:
  • Nine (9) farms, each growing a different plant (one was growing quarry bushes, then I realized that you can't brew them)
  • Four (4) Stills
  • Bedrooms that were originally going to be designed in a fancy fractal design, before I decided to make this into a succession fort. Do what you will with them.
  • Nonexistent defenses. Someone needs to work on that
  • A well, Armok-forbid a fort dedicated to the production of booze should ever run out of booze.

So, who's up for this? I just finished up the first year, so the fort is still pretty small, but there's already plenty of booze for a full-sized fort!

  • Dwarven wine (580)
  • Dwarven ale (192)
  • Dwarven beer (57)
  • Dwarven rum (184)
  • Prickle berry wine (10)
  • Longland beer (78)
  • Fisher berry wine (72)
  • Total drinks: 1173

DF Gameplay Questions / Red V?
« on: November 09, 2008, 08:44:17 pm »
Yeah uh... I'm seeing these red V's on my map, and I have no idea what they are or what they mean. I tried looking at them with the k button, but it just tells me stuff like muddy shrub. Actually, they've all been muddy shrubs, and they're all marked as indoors. But if I go one z-level up, the same tile just gets marked as 'Open Space'. Any ideas?

Note: I have been collapsing some towers, if that helps with the explanation.

DF Bug Reports / [40d] No wild animals?
« on: October 08, 2008, 04:47:31 pm »
Yeah, I've been playing this one fort for a while, and wild animals aren't spawning anymore. I thought at first I had too many caged animals because they were breeding like crazy, but I slaughtered a good lot of them and wild animals still won't spawn. Any help?
