my count just assigned 5 hammerstrikes for export violations on the dwark whose job it is  to give them out. Of course, he doesn't particulary want to do that.

DF Bug Reports / floodgate spam

i just had 4 dwarves wander into a room with a door+floodgate when the lever for the gate was "accidently" pulled". One dwarf managed to swim to freedom due to improper channel placement, two others drowned right in the channel a space from freedom, but one managed to die right in the floodgate hex. Not only is his corpse keeping the gate blocked (unlike the others which just wash away, but i am getting a torrent of messages from dwarves that are attempting to grab his clothes. Is there any way to resolve this problem?

DF Bug Reports / meeting problem in saves?

I just had a human caravan arrive at my fortress with a Guild Representative tagging along. I went and saved because i had other things to do, but when i got back to it, things got wierd. The caravan has been gone for about 2 weeks, but the Guild person and the Broker don't seem to be interested in meeting each other. The broker is wandering between his quarters and the statue guarden as well as the outside of the fortress, while the Rep is busy wandering around my fortress and never seeming to head near the Broker or his quarters. Might there have been a problem when i saved after the caravan arrived which erased the meeting information?

I have a dwarf squatting on my leatherworks saying that he needs "skins....leather" when i have plenty of it in my stockpiles, no specific leather needs in his profile, and even leather of the mules that he likes, but he refuses to budge.

DF Bug Reports / problem in reclaim mode

It seems that whatever is left in a coffer when the fortress ends seems to render it unable to be used by the next batch of dwarves, even when it has been reclaimed and is now sitting in a furniture stockpile. They simply o not appear in a menu to be placed.

DF Bug Reports / caravan guard death bug

it appears now that whenever a guard for one of the various dwarvern caravans that visit me meets his fate via elephant-stomp, my dwarves insist on dumping his body in a tomb as well as all his lovely equipment. I don't seem to recall this happening in past versions, so i wonder if something nasty has croped up in all those equipment changes to prevent us getting free arms& armour from those oh so foolish guards?

my carpenter absolutely refuses to create any animal traps in his workshop, even when there is plenty of wood around and all his other jobs are turned off.

Oh, and the guy i set as a animal trainer/caretaker/trapper refuses to build a kennel, even though there are no other jobs avalible.

Edit: scratch that, he just went and plopped down the kennel. Still no go on the traps though.

1) How exactly would one go about taming an animal like a unicorn (what professions/items are needed)

2)Whenever a craftsman finishes working on an artificat, he always seems to drag it around instead of depositing it in a stockpile. I'd like to sell that stuff to my greedy dwarves

3)Did i mention that a sherrif, broker, bookmaker, and manager all arrived in one wave of migration. Heck of a job providing for their demands. Specially since i haven't really gotten any valuable metals for coins yet.

i am well into the second spring in my 6th fortress, but seem unable to attract any migrants, despite plenty of exports.

Might the mass slaugters i coundcut of rehsus monkeys that swarm my gate be keeping them away for some reason, or should the game only be counting dwarf deaths?

DF General Discussion / dwarvish temper tantrums

First off, i would like to say that i am really  enjoying this, despite some quirks i've found.

I've got my 4th fortress running properly after i accidently gave away all my goods for free on the 1st one and got immediately eaten by bears on the 2nd and 3rd one (on the default "safe" map, no less).

However, my hunter recently got himself into a small tussle with a gorilla and got a wounded left hand, and insists on sitting in the barracks until it heals. Problem is, he seems to be rapidly growing very unhappy, even though he can get up and go get food and  water. At the moment he is not doing anything except throwing tantrums.

Seeing that i only just recently started( still in 1st spring) and only have the 7 dwarves, is there any way i can lift this guy out of the doldrums before he decides to toss himself in the river?

(he is only listed as very unhappy, not melachonic or anything like that)

DF General Discussion / major farming problem

Hokay, i've just encountered this 2 times in a row after the Baron and company arrives at the fortress.

I'm suddenly unable to plant any plump helmets at all in the ground. Every season in the farm plot just displays it in solid red. It's not a lack of seeds, as i have about 170 of them

Seeing as i have no sweet pods and i doubt the other two are edible, i'd seriously like to know if this is some kind of bug or not, lest my fortress starves to death.

Hey Toad, could we possible have a list of precisely how many bars of metals are needed to make particular smithing items? Would help me a lot in trying to build stuff in one of my old save games for the noble horde.

DF General Discussion / noble problems

I'd dearly like to know what the purpose of some of the nobles is supposed to be in the fortress. Like this House Ber fellow who just showed up on my doorstep with about 7 other nobles all demanding huge quarters and getting them now.

Also, where might i see the requests that are made of the mayor, so that i might try to fulfill his mandate to satisfy the above mentioned Ber fellow?

And finally, can we PLEASE have a cap on the number of nobles we get in a single migration? I simply don't have the ability to satisfy even half of what i have now.
