How can I enable viewing of certain features like Magma Pipes and Pits on the embark screen? I remember that there was a way to enable viewing such things.

I just found out that I could change the init files to show certain hidden features when choosing an embark location. For some reason when I want to embark on a site with, say; an elven fortress/city I cannot embark there anymore. This is somewhat annoying to me, as I generated a world with an elven hippie-fortress next to a magma pipe.

DF Gameplay Questions / Window size help

Alright, so I run a computer with a 1920 x 1080 monitor. I also use the Mayday graphic set. Whenever I use the window size calculator to set a window size for full screen, it works fine. The trouble though, is than in full screen mode; when I minimize the whole game shifts 1/8 of a screen to the right and I loose access to all of my options ect., so I can't do fullscreen.

I want to run this game in windows mode with the game taking up the whole screen; but I can't seem to get proper setting. Can anyone help me out?

I heard that there was a mod that allowed users to see the step-by-step playout of combat. It isn't listed on the stick, does anyone know where to get it

DF Gameplay Questions / Loading a saved game

So, I know that if you save from the ESC menu you can continue when you open it up again. I did it a few times last night and it worked fine. Now, I come home after shutting my computer off randomly; and the continue option is gone. How can I access my saved game?

Hey there. Sorry if this is redundant, comes up a lot, ect. Basically, I've read the wiki, and almost all guides I can find, and I still cant scroll through menus!!

By menus, I mean ones like the planting crops menu, mechanics workshop, changing profession, and all of those. Now, I have tried using + and - keys, arrow keys, and just about any key and nothing seems to scroll on those menus. Any help? I have used my laptop keyboard, and about 5 other keyboards at my college campus, so that isn't the problem.
