Curses / Liberal Kiddie Squad
« on: November 04, 2011, 02:08:31 pm »
Just wanna share what I experienced in my latest LCS game and found pretty amusing:

Today, after quite some time, I started playing Liberal Crime Squad again. Despite arch-conservative laws things were running quite well at the beginning. My leader only survived a few months, however I had skilled liberals who could take over the squad and restore its power without problems. But then I made a fatal mistake infiltrating the police station (I accidentally hit "G" during an encounter >_<), and the new leader got shot as well.
This time almost everybody lost touch with the LCS except, what really surprised me, two 9 year old child workers. Now my leader is a badass little boy who can pick locks and properly drive a car and is wanted for several cases of murder 8)
The other kid is a smart girl with very good disguise skill...

So, have any of you had strange/funny squad leaders, too? Maybe dogs or a tank :P

I also tried to draw a picture of my new co-leader:

Forum Games and Roleplaying / Potash Maker Adventure II
« on: August 03, 2011, 05:33:30 am »

This is the sequel of my first forum game Potash Maker Adventure which I, uhm, let starve to death...
The game mechanics will mostly stay the same, but I changed some numbers to improve mortality:

skill checks: Whenever you apply a skill or do something tricky two d12 are rolled against each other. The success roll receives a bonus of +1 for every skill level (and other boni/mali your almighty GM choses to give you) and has to surpass the other d12, otherwise you'll fail and may die horribly.

combat: When trying to hit an enemy you* roll your weapon skill against the victim's dodge or shield using skill. If the roll is successful, you hit.
Then you* roll a d6 to determine which zone of the body you hit. Then one or more dice are rolled, depending on the used weapon, the sum is divided by the armor value of the hit body zone and rounded to determine the damage.

*Your almighty GM rolls the dice and tells you the result. No, he won't cheat. Probably.

You need to choose a class and a dwarfy name to begin your adventure. The class gives you a random (1d6) level of the related skill and related item(s). You can also specify how your dwarf shall look like.

available classes:
Potash maker
Crutch-walker
Dyer
Presser
Soaper
Spinner
Thresher
Wood burner
Milker
Fish cleaner
Fish dissector
Record keeper

Any volunteers?

Creative Projects / I made a game

Hello!

I just programmed a little topdown-shooter with crappy selfmade sounds.
You are playing as an insane gamer who goes berserk because he spent too much time playing DF. Then he serves Armok by killing people for the blood god.

Praise Armok :D

Creative Projects / Fractal Heightmap Stuff, Compatibility Test
« on: June 23, 2010, 06:08:14 am »
Hi dwarves!

I played around a bit with the midpoint displacement algorythm and basic 3d programming stuff.
During the programming I got some obligatory Windows errors where nothing was wrong in the code (well, Win XP) and am now looking for some people to test the compatibility of the demo.
It cannot do really much yet, the program just creates a simple fractal island, converts it to a mesh and lets you look at it.

Windows only. I'm too stupid for Linux  :-[

Please post if it works or not, and some information on your system

Creative Projects / Vector Graphics of the Stick
« on: May 18, 2010, 08:38:40 am »
Hi,
I just downloaded Inkscape a few days ago to try out working with vector graphics. To get used to the program I drew some stick figures in the style of OOTS.

Maybe somebody likes them  ;D

DF Gameplay Questions / lazy husband
« on: May 07, 2010, 03:19:54 pm »
Hi,
I'm currently playing an Adam and Eve challenge in .31.03. My problem is, that the man just stopped working two seasons ago.
He is listed as "No Job" in the unit-screen, but does not count to the total number of idlers (like on break). He has nearly all jobs enabled and can path to the jobs' locations, but only wanders around in the meeting zones.
Has anybody an idea how to fix that?

Forum Games and Roleplaying / Potash Maker Adventure!
« on: April 12, 2010, 04:34:41 am »
Inspired by the awesomeness of Peasant Adventure and Adventure Peasant I decided to start my own RPG-attempt featuring poorly drawn pictures, references to DF and DEATH  ;D
Because English is not my native language my texts may sometimes contain mistakes in grammar or style, but I hope this won't stop everybody from joining.

You are playing as dwarves and can choose one of the following professions:
Fish Cleaner
Cheese Maker
Thresher
Dyer
Soap Maker
Potash Maker
Lye Maker
Wood Burner

You may also give yourself a dwarfy surname, but it has to be RNG-compatible.

Spoiler: Game mechanics (click to show/hide)

Any volunteers (or questions)? :D

EDIT:
Fallen Heroes:
Demonic Spoon, killed by a fisherdwarf in the resistance hideout's fishery while transformed into a cave fish.

Waiting List:
Crunch Applesapples, Dyer (Samthere)
Urist McOverlord, Soap Maker
Demonic Spoon, Cheese Maker
Askot Bokbondeler
Tailor Chillglazes, Dyer (TailorTF)
Uvast "Mc"Dwarf, Wood Burner (Labs)
Siquo
wolfchild
Max Cheesemurdered, Wood Burner (maxicaxi)
Hugehead
Icy FrozenBalls, Wood Burner (iceball 3)
Jorum Tamewater, Potash Maker
Weirdstudent the Bane of Insects, Small Animal Dissector (Sheb)
Rolan7
Doret
hubris_incalculable
(Halmie, suspended)

Curses / Real Persons in LCS...
« on: March 04, 2010, 07:55:21 am »
For my latest Crime Squad, wich is lead by Ronald McDonald, I needed some liberals capable of making disguises. So I freed a sweatshop worker from the forces of evil, but on the way to the savehouse we were followed and they got him. That was when I first looked at his name:
