'Ello. I am pretty new to Dwarf Fortress (well, I've been playing for a month or two, but I haven't experienced much) and I have a few questions I have been wondering.
The first is: which is stronger- a wolf or a war dog? I managed to capture a pack of wolves (they seem to just walk right into my cage traps that were intended for goblins...), and now that they have given birth to several pups, I thought about putting them to good use. I decided I'd chain them (to golden chains

) at the entrance to the trapped entrance of my fortress, as both a warning system and a anti-theft system. They seem to have brought the whole pack with them, since none have been adopted, so there are about 4 wolves (not including pups) at the chains at a time. I don't want too many out there, as they are probably going to die. So I thought about putting in some war dogs, instead, but I need to know if the extra company the wolves bring are worth it (more powerful).
Part two: I have a mayor (whom I do not think fondly of) who recently requested two bronze items. Given that my map had no bronze (it did in the form of ores, I just didn't care

), I ignored her mandate. Later, after the mandate ended, my Legendary engraver, who was happily decorating the mayor's office with masterpieces, was beaten by my Captain of the Guard. During the fight, I demoted this idiot, and wondered why he did that. I checked the justice screen, and saw that the engraver has been charged with not creating the bronze items, despite having no metalsmithing skills. Why is this?
Part three:
How is babby dragon formed? Can two captured and tamed dragons breed? They'd make better defenders than canines.

If you don't like to read:
- Are wolves stronger than war dogs?
- Why do innocent dwarves get arrested?
- Can a dragon breed with another dragon (in game)?
Thank you for (not?) reading. Oh, and "magma" is not a legitimate answer.
