DF Gameplay Questions / Emptying cages

I have a wee goblin locked up in a cage, and I've managed to strip him nude. Now I want to oil him up and let my wrestlers get some practice, but I can't figure out how to get him out of the cage. I've looked all over the wiki and tried a bunch of commands, but nothing seems to do it.

I'm going to take some time to investigate the meatier side of Dwarf Fortress, and for this I will require many, many corpses. What would be a good number of animals to keep locked up to generate a steady stream of babies? And do all animals breed at the same rate?
