To make a long story very, very short: While trying to find a flat-as-possible embark on a tundra with a magma tube. I found a site to my liking, however, upon embark "a section of the cavern has collapsed" and by "cavern" they mean half the ground (literally half the map is gone), and by "collapsed" they mean fallen straight into hell. I'm currently working to get screenshots and the save up for viewing and playing. I'm no longer particularly interested as the site is kinda ruined for me (aforementioned falling into hell does that :/), but I know some members of the forum might very well be interested in a semi-glitchy yet still enjoyable embark.

DF Modding / applying new templates to creatures

How would one go about this? I'm trying to add a new bone template to a creature, but i don't know the appropriate tag, and the wiki isn't very beginning modder friendly. Thanks in advance!

Before I start, I know this would probably be more fitted to be in the modding section, but since only modders and people looking for mods go there, I put it here. That being said, here's the story:

I recently had an idea for a new fort where the military NEVER make contact with the rest of the fortress. I ran into the problem of there burrow getting food. The solution I found was to have a slave-like hauler moving everything to their burrow for them. This eventually ended in a golem creature made of stone. I want to make 5-7 castes of it for various materials (as opposed to a caste for each stone type).

So, choose your favorites and the top few will be used. You can vote 5 times.

Exactly what it says on the tin, My first .17 fort immediately received a message that the cavern collapsed. This isn't strange itself as it happens a lot in my forts. However, the section that collapsed was apparently a Gemstone mini spire as well as the ENTIRE floor of my magma sea. The Spartans, thankfully, are still contained, but are quite clearly magma immune, even the flying slugs composed of steam. This also leads me to think the exposed spire's are a bug as I'm just the next in a long string of reports coming from .17. If anyone wants the save, I'll upload it.

So, in my current fortress the goblins hit the world pretty hard.So much so that the humans only send craftsmen to trade (I've gotten a craftsman and a weaponsmith). There civ screen only shows a single law-giver as there important leader. The question: Is this a bug or feature?

AND :Can dwarves still wear caps and helms at the same time?

So, I'm planning a megafortress and want it look as good as possible. So two questions:

1)Is there a definitive list of all the colors Dwarf Fortress supports? If so, what are they?

2)There being modded in as large stone clusters. How do you do that? I've tried but couldn't get it to generate.(had same properties as microcline, but a different name.)

So I have a couple questions regarding these two portable drink sources.

1: Have they become interchangeable? I set my leatherworker to produce waterskins (dwarven trade agreement said they would pay 192%) and now I have 30 no matieral flasks.

2: Is there an option in the military screen to disable the use of them?

So, I've been planning a pump stack for some time and thought, “Dwarven SCIENCE dictates that a pump not only generates pressure,but also allows it to act as a wall. Therefore, one pump could deliver liquid several levels.”

Is this theory valid (Keyword:THEORY. if it isn't tested I will)

Just as the title states, my doctor went fey and is demanding shell.
A) my fishery workers won't process turtle or cave lobster.(appropriate buildings and labors are in place.)
B)my butchers won't slaughter animals,which I've added shells to.(appropriate buildings and labors are in place.)

So, my fort is going along rather nice, the humans come bringing LOADS of booze which I buy. No problems, then recently I've started to notice a lemming march down to the brook for water, when OVER 100 units of untasked booze are perfectly accessible 10 feet away. whats up?
