DF Gameplay Questions / Goblin Items Forbidden

Apologies if this has been posted earlier (and also for my halfwittedness, as this is probably an easy one).
However, I can't seem to get my dwarves to auto-claim Goblin items after a siege. I have set orders to claim all dead items etc, but when the Goblins have taken a beating, all their kit is forbidden, leaving me to manually claim it all.
Is there a way?
I have also 'unforbidden' all their items in the Stocks screen in case it was that.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
