Im going to try starting my own forum game for once... I decided to add a twist... It mainly uses personal messages, so noone knows whats going on with everyone else (unless of course they TELL the other players). It is an ascii rpg and there are four players, all that try to get stronger and eventually fight to the death. For the first time, im trying it simple. Im using a random number generator to roll a sort of dice for the game.

A few more things:

   On the second level, there is a room in the middle surrounded by mirrors. The first player to enter down the stairs gets sent to the best chest, while in order everyone else gets worse and worse chests. However, past this room you CANT go back up, making it so you might miss all sorts of chests just to take a chance at getting the prize. You have no clue what order you are in until you descend the stairs, but if you feel you took awhile you might as well stay and collect more chests and kill monsters to gain more levels.

   Also it takes 1 TP to use a food source, which heals 20 points of health. You can use as many as you want per turn until you run out. You can also attack a player as many times as you want, so if they are right next to you, you could say right x 5, having 5 shots at them. However attacks dont do an incredible amount of damage, and it could take a few turns depending on players stats for how fast they die, giving them a chance to escape and heal.

DF Suggestions / Reserve specific bins

I know, this has probably already been suggested... But I really wish you could reserve a CERTAIN type of bin, barrel for a stockpile. Such as I dont want my coal and coke in wooden boxes, while they use all my iron bins to hold all of my stone blocks... It just makes no sense... A big fire just hit me, and set all my coal on fire, while just destroying the boxes holding the blocks... This would be so much more helpful  :-[

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Cant collect webs?

Im getting really annoyed... whenever i try to dig into a cavern, suddenly I get a TON of spam saying my weavers cant find paths to webs... Why cant they find a path to them? I dug all the way to the webs, and dug out everything... Yet on the surface they will quickly gather every web there is (Im playing genesis mod...)... Is there a way i can get them an easier path to all the webs?!

i just thought this up... Why not make it so you can take all of your extra plants and turn them into medicine? So basically wed just have an alchemists workshop (Like the older versions used to have for soap...) And a person with the same alchemist skill can use it to turn herbs and certain extracts into medicine, which could heal sick people quicker, and cure some diseases. (Or even cure poison)? And to make a vial for potions, you just need some glass to store it in. I mean, even elves probably have access to this dwarves most likely have access to healing  8)

OH MY GOD... I JUST thought up what seems to me a great idea... Since whenever you are trying to make the perfect fort, but you accidentally dig into an aquifer when its half done... Why not make it so we can make a core sampler! It can dig down a few levels on one tile, and will leave an open space one tile down a few floors so you can see what you hit. That way, you can also plan ahead. The formula for one would be similar to a screw pump... It uses one corkscrew, a block, and a mechanism. Then just use a miner to operate it...

DF General Discussion / HELP!! Lost EVERYTHING!

Im using 31.16, but I accidentally pushed some button, and I lost ALL MY CAVES AND BUILDINGS! The caves turned back to nothing, and I have to redig them all out. (Yet my people can still walk through these "Ghost Caves"... Also, All my walls I built turned into floors, and suddenly it said something caved in, and half my people died... I have no clue what button I pressed... Is this some sort of bug??

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Dfliquids ruining paths

Im trying to build a megastructure, and I just added in a magma building, but i pumped in too much magma and it started overflowing. So then i HAD to cheat, it was too much of a mess to clean it up, so i used dfliquids. So i wrote magma 0 to remove it, but every spot i removed it, those spots cannot be walked on anymore, and that whole area keeps saying they cannot reach site... How can i fix this problem?

Ive just been thinking of some ideas for new versions... Here they are:

1.Bone blocks/furniture: Just imagine... A large siege of goblins coming to your fortress, but they must first pass through a tunnel... Made of THEIR ANCESTORS! So basically you take 3 bones of a type and make a bone block, or furniture. Furniture will have value depending on the type of animal bone (Goblin chair, dog bone table, or even an artifact Mega Beast door?).

2.Frozen monsters: So you can make blocks out of ice and make constructions, right? But why not be able to use the blocks that have frozen monsters, and make walls? So basically depending on the monsters, it works kind of like an engraved wall, so make a chamber out of walls of frozen goblins, mega beasts, demons, etc. So now you can execute goblins with ice, then make your entrance made out of frozen goblin walls.

3.Amber: Amber deposits could be like gems, but some would have rare "Vermin" stuck in some, and can have greater value, and be made into crafts with greater value.


They may have already been suggested, but if not I thought these were some good ideas of mine...

I have a dwarf at a craft workshop, and he keeps saying needs rock bars and body parts... But I have a pile of dog and cat bones and rock blocks/metal bars right next to him but he keeps saying he still needs stuff... Why wont it work?

DF General Discussion / Odd dwarf behavior

Im on a map that has a really steep mountain, but first off when I tell my dwarves to do something like build a building, it seems like if its within 15 tiles of the edge of the map, they wont do ANYTHING. Also Im trying to build a megaconstruction, first off it says distance to materials is -41529 something, and also i have access to everywhere in the building, but the dwarves act like they keep getting trapped on the top floor.. They will just sit there and not work at all. My dwarves wont do like anything, what is wrong with my place? I also checked and one of my dwarves is in a bad mood, and is at a workshop, and he keeps screaming needs rock, but there is rock EVERYWHERE, all over the place, and noone is using it for construction. And my masons say they have no job, all 7 of them, yet I have 5 workshops that have build rock blocks on them, and nobody is using them. Unless it helps, i have 2010 v31...

I embarked in an area without lava, and i tried to use lavasquare.exe, but it doesnt seem to work. Im using 40d right now, so how do i use this program? Or is it possible to allow me to dig deeper then 30 levels down?
