DF Modding / Hardcoded features changes for the steam version?

Hello,
I'm not a modder but I'm curious about modding possibilities. Anyone knows if the developer is planning to make some of the hardcoded data accessible to modders for the steam version?
I think it's the time or never, since he stopped developing new features until the steam version is out and focusing on polish and UX.

In real life, I believe, people got a pre-determined POTENTIAL for everything, and even after 50 years of hard work, they can't all become the best of the best.
Legendary means he "!!!!!LEGENDARY!!!!!WOOOWOWOWOW", and in the game it doesn't have much impact. There should be songs and poems written about their life cause they are special and RARE.

What's up with that?

- Dwarves wouldn't systematically reach "legendary +5" level after a while. A few of them will, and they will be more important and will require more of your attention.
- Immigrants will be even more importants (especially when you can attract some highly skilled dwarves).

Finding a "pearl" is more than a simple enjoyment, you'll become esctatic :)

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Newbie questions

Hi all,

1) I'm at a point where my fort is developping slowly and I still have no militia (no dwarf with relevant skills except one with "novice fighter") and no peasant/immigrants. I'm currently attacked by Goblins outside of my fort and all my dwarves are getting killed one by one when they go out. What to do?

2) I'd like to make traps, but no dwarf is able to build the workshop (mechanic). In fact, a lot of my workshops aren't running at all cause I don't have dwarves with relevant skills.
