DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Turning on invasions in the middle of a game

Will I get invasions if I start a fort with them off, and turn them on later? The same goes for the population settings, temperature, weather, economy, no rent, and the others.

DF Modding / Piercing fists?

Okay, so I asked a bit of the same question a while back, but I'm a very curious dude so I love to ask questions.
Anyway, can someone tell me how to add spikes to a dwarf(or even better, a caste of dwarf)'s fists? Or how to make them do piercing damage?
And one more, is it possible to change the fists/spikes into a different material? Or even awesomer, having dwarves be born with a random fist material(it would suck to have a dwarf weak in everything be born with adamantine spikes/fists). And if all else fails can I make a weapon that works when you punch? Like weighted gloves or heavy cylinders you hold in your hand to make it heavier?

Ok, so I've been on these forums for a bit, a month maybe. And people just seem to know how to do EVERYTHING.
There are plenty of things newbies need to know how to do, including myself.
Including, but not limited to:
How do you move creatures with such precision, I read a post where a dude said he dropped 3 puppies into a pit. How did he do it?
How to pump water. How do you use pumps effectively.
Causing cave-ins. These seem kinda hard to do on purpose. I can't seem to get it.
These are all common knowledge to lots of forumers, so can anyone explain or ask more newbie questions?

Ok, if anyone has read the inheritance series, then you should know about Ascûdgamln.
They are basically brass knuckles for dwarves.

Anyway, the dwarves have holes drilled in their bones and they insert screw-pockets, where they can screw in spikes and blunt knuckles.
So, basically what I'm asking, is if it is at all possible to have dwarves either fitted(probably impossible), or born with Ascûdgamln.
Imagine:
Urist McAdamantineKnuckles punches titan in the chest.
It is punctured!
Titan is having trouble breathing!
If either of these is possible, it would be EPIC.
But if I have to make them born with them, then would it be possible to make them made of a random material from wood to adamantine?
I drool at the prospect!

DF Modding / Prosthetic limbs?

Okay so I had a brilliant idea, and I bet it is impossible.
But what about prosthetic limbs for dwarves? It would be cool to re-mobilize dwarves who have lost one or both legs, or even feet.
I'm not so sure about hands, but legs would work, if this was implementable at all.
Is it possible?

Now that you've seen the interesting title and clicked on it, I need to ask a couple of questions.
How would I go about changing the amount of babies a dwarf had?
How can I lower the time a dwarf lives?
How can I make their mature time 1 season?
And how can I make them either marry way quicker, or just breed without marraige?

DF Gameplay Questions / Problem with adventure mode taverns

Ok so whenever I make a new world, I usually start as either a human or elf in adventure mode.
And in the 2010 version of this game, when I spawn, I'm not in a tavern, nor are there any towns WITH taverns at all.
When you visit a town from the fast travel place you have to find it, and when you find it, it is just a couple of houses with a million
people crammed into them. Is there a way to fix this?
Oh and on a side note, the [speed:1] hack thing isn't working in 2010 either for me. I put it right after homeotherm.
So thanks for your help if you help me.
