Right now, when you copy and paste orders, it will paste the copied state for where to sleep (barracks/bed) but not the designation for what clothes to wear. I suggest making it copy and paste the Inactive Clothing Setting in the same way.

DF Suggestions / Let Elves Accept Wooden Bins in Trade
« on: March 31, 2011, 02:34:04 am »
The title pretty much says it. This would save a lot of time when you're trying to trade in bulk out of a bin. I know I could use metal bins, but metal is too precious to give away to those doddering elves!

Right now it takes up a whole stack (5 pieces). Doesn't seem worth it :(

DF Suggestions / Re: Jumping and Climbing -- Topic from DF Talk Ep. 11
« on: February 25, 2011, 04:01:56 am »
Hi,

I had an idea regarding jumping and climbing. You were talking about how it would be good for ruins exploration and such, but wouldn't be good if it allowed the player to avoid enemies in unrealistic ways. My idea is that you could either 1. make it so that once a player jumps/climbs along a route, that route is permanently (or at least for the particular Adv. Mode character) marked so that enemies can travel along the same path the player did, or 2. make it so that the player must bring pitons and then spend time hammering them into the wall they wish to scale, then being forced to remove them or else leave them traversable by (most?) creatures.

Toady, you're living my dream. Enjoy it ^^

The title pretty much says it. Right now both are thrown into the same permit/forbid selection. I would like to keep fat only at my kitchens, and then pull a bit of tallow from there over to my soapmaker's shop. Thanks for your consideration!

DF Suggestions / Diagonal Wall Building Request
« on: November 18, 2010, 01:28:27 am »
Hi! I am loving Dwarf Fortress.

I started building an Aqueduct to get water from the river to my Fort, however, I ran into some trouble. As I was building Walls on either side of the floor channel, I found I could not build walls diagonally. I am hoping this is not something that would have negative ramifications if changed. Thanks for your consideration! A related request: I found a workaround that takes about eight times as long which involves building an extra floor tile, building the wall piece, then destroying the floor section. However, I notice that it takes MUCH longer to remove something than to build it. Is there any chance this could be changed as well?

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / I found this to be epic win.
« on: November 16, 2010, 05:21:45 am »

I was finally hit by the big goblin ambush that I had finally decided wouldn't come. Unfortunately, all my men were guarding the first levels of caverns which I had just opened up when the goblins attacked. In some ways I wanted to let the fortress fall because... well, I knew it'd be !fun!. My last three or four guys made a last stand, when "Mosus" proved to be one bad ass motherf**ker! I hope you enjoy. Now I can move on to the new version I hope.
