DF Modding / I need help with a graphics set!!

I must sound really suck-ish at this game for saying this, but I can't get a graphics set working!!
I downloaded the "Lazy Newb" package and I'm trying to get the Mayday graphics. I click on them and then click "install", it installs the grpahics, and then it asks to update, I click yes, but it says I have no savegames to update, yet when I get on my either of my fortresses, it still has ASCII graphics....
Can anyone help me?
