i walled some merchants in and took their animals, and now i cant mass cram them into cages. the game now treats them as stolen. if the names are in blue they wont do anything. i think im gonna throw them into the magma now.

okay so i have this set up to defend against sieges.

E=empty space
D=door
S=upright spike
R=weapon rack
P=pressure plate
A=bridge

the bridge folds up into a wall for my danger room. when the gobbos step on the pressure plate they get atom smashed releasing my 1 dwarf army to kill the rest of them in the bottle neck. the only problem is that i need the pressure plate to be reusable. when the goblins step off of the pressure plate the bridge would return to its wall state killing the dwarf.

how do i make the reusable plate not deactivate when the goblin walks off of it?

make items disappear off the equipment screen when you assign them to your dwarfs. it is very annoying spending time finding which glove the dwarf didnt decide to pick up, especially when you have 20 pairs of gloves.

ok so i have 2 continents on my world map. if i were to connect the 2 continents with a lot of flooring as a bridge would invaders be able to cross it to attack my fort? its getting boring with the good land on one side and the gobs on the other.

here we have floor 4. i am draining a river with 3 stairways. the river is 4 tiles wide. 1 tile should flow off the map right?

floor 3. my post flood dining room (which happened because i thought water could go through fortifications). i have yet to build it.

floor 2. drainage to a different river. my cat got stuck here and drowned.

floor 1. a flowing river from a redirected waterfall. wtf. also that grey thing is an obsidian wall. alligators are annoying.

also the rivers meet and the exit for the river stays 4 tiles wide. both rivers are 4 tiles wide. 4+4=4? do rivers work like aquifers?

i have an idea! when i was messing around with dwarf therapist i noticed it had an option: enable labor setting on anyone(im a dirty cheater). now we all know children are sitting on their asses doing nothing but eating all our food. there is a solution however:sweatshops schools.

we simply drop all the children down a chute with a dog chained to the bottom. they survive. then we drop some stone/food/whatever down a different chute so they have supplies. we have them build workshops. they build useless crap until they become legends. then we drop the legends down another chute to freedom with a puppy chained at the bottom.

BONUS POINTS for dropping cats down the first chute so they have some company.

edit:it only works if you have dwarf therapist
