DF Bug Reports / [40c and much earlier] Instant Meetings with designate.

This one has been around forever, isnt really game breaking and I enjoy using it, but then I just searched through the bug list and it doesnt seem to have been reported.

If a liason, diplomat or any other meeting-causing entity arrives and has a conversation with your broker/mayor/baron etc, pausing and designating any areas for anything with the mouse, digging, tree cutting, undesignating, causes the timer between conversations to tick over rapidly.

Example, a trade liason would arrive and as soon as I dismiss the first conversation screen, I can pause the game, select the undesignate designation mode and just scrawl with my mouse until the next screen pops up. Dismiss the next screen and repeat.

Well, this is the first time I've seen one of my dwarves scream for this. Any idea what they want?

Building a bridge, then cancelling it before it's finished over a lava channel caused it to stop flowing and drain out into a natural channel. Lava also keeps spilling out at the end on the chasm side even though there's no lava in the channel.

Lastly, a miner stood in the channel and got burned up in the lava, leaving no corpse behind, and all the other dwarves are going crazy with path spam.

My manager got caught in a flood and drowned, the idiot. However, I can still access the manager screen and put in orders, which are carried out. Should this happen?

Waves everywhere! (save game!)

What I have is a small area of mined out twisty tunnels. I thought I'd flood the place just to get some tower caps growing and hooked up an aqueduct system over the chasm, let it flood, then drained it. The water drained out except for the leading edge of the water, which kept going around and around in those tunnels, forever!

Not really, but my dwarves did all charge out of the fort when the elves showed up, all their current jobs set to 'Eat'. They rushed to the Elves and were eating all their fresh fruit off the mules!   :eek:

DF Bug Reports / Trapped tame animals unassignable/butcherable?

I've got a tamed rat and tamed lizard from the animal traps I've set up, but when I try assign them on the animals screen, either for pets or butchering, the assignment doesnt stick and is always 'unavailable' whenever I go back to the Animals screen.

DF Suggestions / World generation: Display world name

A minor suggestion. I do like generating worlds while I'm busy doing something else and tend to keep them depending on their names. Having the world name visible during generation would be a nice extra.

DF Suggestions / Orders:Gather items/ignore items, or no-go zones

This addition would really be great for stopping my dwarves running suicidally to gather equipment from fellow dwarves who've been stomped to death by elephant herds. Or at least get them under control enough that I can lock the front door.

Alternatively, perhaps you could Designate areas that dwarves completely ignore/ cannot pass over.

Okay so I'm playing in a sinister area, and outside are all these zombie elephants. Scary! My dwarves stay well inside though and we generally have no problems with them.

When the traders come around though... the elephants smash them flat. That leaves loot that my dwarves will try and grab. They'll all rush out to be smushed flat by zombie elephants, trying to recover all that blood covered gear, ignoring my orders not to do so! I've turned off all gathering and told the dwarves to stay indoors, but they still rush out to try pick up the armour and weapons left by the fallen caravan guards and get slaughtered by undead! How can I stop this?

DF General Discussion / Plant Fibre- how to?

So how do I obtain plant fibres anyway? Pig tails seem the likely source, but where do I process them? The mill only seems to work on sugar pods and wheat. Can anyone help me out? One of my farmers has gone strange and claimed a craft shop!

So, a zombie elephant charged into my fortress only to run into a cage trap. Now the damn thing's sitting in my animal holding area. Does anyone know what zombie elephants eat (besides dwarves) so I can get it trained up?
