DF Gameplay Questions / Metamorphic magnetite?

I just located a large cluster of magnetite inside of a quartzite layer, which should be metamorphic, but there are no iron ores in metamorphic layers (According to the wiki).
For some reason this is bothering me. Is it just a bug or is there an explanation?

DF Gameplay Questions / Empty magma pool?

In my most recent fortress, I discovered a magma pool in the third cavern level, (I got the message and everything) but when I looked at it, there was no magma.

If I remember correctly, the icon in the upper left quarter is the same as the one in the eerie glowing pits (Which would explain the two clowns that have flown out of it).

So, anyone seen something like this before?
