I don't know about you, but I don't think I'd be staking a dwarf moving stone and digging faster than his brothers.

I think I'd promote him to chief miner and send him to open up caverns at the front of the forgotten beast brigade.

=D

Does the fortress die if all our dwarfs turn into vampires?  Because if not, I think I'd purposely find out the vampire, get him to bleed in some communal water source and make all the other dwarfs drink tainted vampire water.  Instant super fortress right there. :D

DF Modding / What tags control mandates?
« on: May 06, 2011, 06:27:38 pm »
I either want to increase the ridiculousness of them, or remove them completely.  Depending on my mood I guess.

Are there any tags that control mandates?  Can I simply remove mandates by removing the useless noble positions? (While nobles are perfectly reasonable in their insane requirements, there is a reason why we have 'accidental happenings'.

*slap head* I guess if I read the right raw I'd probably know that it was mandate_max and demand_max.

Now to just wiki up how to make more ridiculous mandates.

Cave Lobster miniature toilets for everyone!

edit: exemption from punishment?  Not likely... lets just go ahead and remove that.... along with does not do menial tasks... hmmm...

Those two removed together will surely result in a hilarious death or two.

*Mayor McUrist demands goblin skin throne!*
"Sir, you failed to make yourself a goblin skin throne, thats three hammer strokes."

Is there a delete thread option, or should I just let this sink off the first page into oblivion?

I've been messing around with the raws trying to fidget with the dwarven soul.  Bless their little hearts they run around and build and dig faster than tornadoes right now, but as soon as I get a map where I put down some beds, they all go to sleep...

forever

Oh, I also made them size

   [BODY_SIZE:0:0:20000]
   [BODY_SIZE:1:168:300000]
   [BODY_SIZE:12:0:900000]

with 10,000 in all the stats.

And yes, I don't plan on playing with them like this, I'm just playing around with stats to see which ones help a civ survive worldgen the best.  Since this is a recurring bug for me, I want to find out what causes it, so if I do make a final change, it doesn't incur this sleepy wrath.

Those are the changes that I made.  I made sure to leave out nosleep, as the wiki says its bugged with the problem I'm getting.  So... are they just angry because they have no emotions? :D

Being new to the format of the raws, I was looking for a quick way to get into dwarf fortress for a little bit of practice with the military screen without having to reload or regen every 5 minutes.

So I made dwarves made out of awesome. (Not cotton candy... the floor of the circus)

Well, they seem to kill clowns handily with their bare teeth.  But now and again they will still get a missing upper body.  From salty clowns.  I figured "well, maybe if the clowns were firebreathers... but these guys were just salty".

So... need a suggestion from anyone else that is a horrible cheater.

Here is an example of the raw (the part I changed the most, but still not alot)

I'm thinking maybe get rid of the joints... but I'm not so sure about that.
