Have you ever wanted something? Something that is very possible to get....
Something that, while not easy to obtain, is very much reachable
But society has told you over an over again. NO, that is not the right way...

You know that situation very well. You've had a dream, that has been with you as far back as you can remember.

What is your dream? An Ideal World of some sort? Money? Power? Fame? Love? Or something else...(write in)
We are all on a journey till the day we cease to be, yes? How has your journey been so far?
Are you a young greenhorn, fresh out of trainer school? You don't even have your first Pokemon yet. You're anxiously wondering what your new friend, or perhaps tool will be?
Maybe, your relatives are wealthy. As a gift they got you a trainer license and an exceedingly rare Pokemon
Perhaps, you're already a trainer of some skill. Not famous, but you know your way around. At least, you would like to think so. You have 3 Pokemon at your side, but only one has really formed something that you could call a bond.
There's also a chance that you met with a like minded group of people and joined an organization that was soon thwarted. You managed to avoid arrest, keep your somewhat new living tool, and are very thankful that yesterday was pay-week.
Or is there another possibility I've missed
Where are you now anyway
A Hotel room in Celadon, Kanto
An inn somewhere near New Bark Town, Johto
A boat heading for Slateport, Hoenn
The infamous Canalave Hotel, Sinnoh
A motel in Castelia, Unova
A luxury suit in Lumiose, Kalos.  Whether or you should be here is another story

We've been chatting for a while now, whats your name and what do you look like?

Never thought I would make a thread like this...

I recently had my an attempt to start a relationship with a wonderful young woman rejected. She "appreciates my feelings" but "doesn't really see me that way", well people's minds can be changed. And I am madly, madly in love with this woman. The only reason I didn't break down immediately afterwords was because her voice is so energizing and soothing to me. I don't want to give up on my chances of starting a relationship with her. She didn't say no explicitly, so there's still hope, right?

So, I'm asking is it in good taste to try to earn someones affections after the rejected you once? Or should I just give up hope?

Roll To Dodge / Bay12's Bizzare Arena(JoJo RTD)
« on: February 13, 2014, 08:38:00 pm »
Spoiler: OOC Intro (click to show/hide)

You have been called to a large estate, somewhere in Europe. A strange benefactor has paid for your trip, claiming that he knows of way to make your "talents" more lucrative, and if money is no object the  letter says he knows how to tame the sun.

You decide to take a little trip.

When you enter the foyer you seen 11 other men and women, with one aging man standing at the top a massive stairway. Despite his years his voice is booming.

"I welcome all you, I'm glad you could make it. You will be staying on this lovely estate and the nearby town until the duration of this competition is over. You all will be killing each other during your stay. For a very special prize, chances at immortality, and for the TRUE immortals standing among us: something even greater. But before you bear fangs, fists, and god knows what else, we should get some things straight. THOSE OF YOU WHO WISH TO LEAVE THIS MANSION  ALIVE AND THE IMMEDIATE AREA ARE LEAVE TO NOW! Now, that's out of the way we need to establish some house rules that will be enforced.

First, You can team up , but I will not recognize a pairing till you get ready to claim your prize/prizes. So don't complain about team killing
Second, You may not attack anyone in the dining room, bathrooms, or bedrooms. Those are safezones.
Third, You may not attempt an attack on a fellow guest before dinner is concluded tonight
Finally, if you think you can just attack me for the prize I should let you know I have a device that will activate an on site warhead that WILL destroy anything of value here.

With that out of the way, lets have ourselves a little meet and greet...

Forum Games and Roleplaying / You are a Skeleton

You find yourself opening your eyes after whats felt like a good nights rest, you struggle to move your limbs. It feels like you haven't used them in a while. You stumble and trip and hear a sickening crack, but feel no pain. You look at the offending limb and find it twisted with bone jutting out from rotten flesh. You panic as you soon realize you can't even remember your own name. You take a step back to think about all you know and examine your new form

You don't remember alot about yourself or the world, how you died, or how long you've been dead. What you do remember are some things things that you were pretty good at while you were alive. What were they again?
You have 20 points to spend on skills. Each level in a skill gives you a +1 on a roll of that skill. To gain a skill now, you need to invest 5 points into it to get it to level 1.  To level it further you add just add that levels worth of points. 2 points for level 2 and so on.

Spoiler: combat skills (click to show/hide)

Spoiler: Non combat skills (click to show/hide)

Now that you remember some key skills you knew, its time to assess how bad you have it. Of course being a zombie has plenty of downsides, but there are some good things that can come of it too. This is also a good chance to check for any physical abnormalities you had when you were alive.
Select a Zombie"boon"  and a "Former Human Boon". For each boon you take aside from the first in each category, you have to take a consequence

I'm going to try to stick with this forum game for a bit. I'll be using a d20 system to gauge success.

Okay, so my uncle decided to gift me a new computer, despite my protests. Its a "Lenovo H430" with 2.9 ghz, 1 Terrabyte Hardrive, 4 GB Ram, Integrated Graphics Card, and Windows 8 OS. I'm hardly a computer expert, like a lot of you guys here, but from what I know and what I have read about this model, its pretty crummy. So my question is what am I going to do with a computer that wasn't even worth taking out of the box?

Atlus, famous for the Shin Megami Tensei series, may be in hot water. Their parent company filed for bankruptcy today, and is under investigation for dirty business tactics. They are currently going under "restructuring" to stay afloat. For those o you who don't know, Atlus is one of the few(maybe only) subsidiaries of Index not hemorrhaging money right now. If Index doesn't get its shit together and no one buys Atlus, this could be the end of several great videogame series. Even if, YHVH forbid, Atlus goes under, games already coming will still be released. We'll still be getting Dragon's Crown and SMT IV(If you're in NA, Europeans are pretty much fucked. But when are Europeans NOT fucked when it comes to dealing with Atlus?)

Personally, even if Index does go under, Atlus is too well known to not be bought by someone else. SMT/Persona(If you bother making a distinction), are pretty much FF and DQ level big. The question is, who will take the prize? Who will be out Messiah? I'm thinking Sony or Nintendo.

Play With Your Buddies / Let's Play Disgaea DS
« on: December 07, 2012, 08:00:03 pm »
I accidentally closed this tab after writing a fancy explanation of the big twist ,so now I have to summarize.
Disgaea is a Strategy RPG made by Nippon Ichi Software, originally made for the PS2, the game received a DS incarnation. We will be playing the DS incarnation.
This LP will be interactive, after the "tutorial" I can create several characters assuming I have the mana. You, the audience can request a character.
Spoiler: Sheet (click to show/hide)

Well, I guess that explains everything so far. I'm still working all of this out. Feel free to ask questions.

Sorry about the "twist", but I'm just allowing character requests now.

Forum Games and Roleplaying / Pokemon:Paper and Rock version
« on: October 26, 2012, 11:40:39 pm »
A long time ago, before the age of peace, before the dire hours of brutal warfare, before  men even knew about the fantastic creatures:
There was the vast nothingness of the universe. A vortex churned and chortled for many years.
Then came an egg, and in that egg: creation.
With 1000 arms the beast shaped Space
With 1000 arms the beast shaped Time
With 1000 arms the beast shaped Distortion.
The sons of the beast created the world.
The sons of the beasts created  emotions to feel, knowledge to seek,  power to process. Not just for Man, but for all of the beings on Earth.
While the world was still young, and the beasts still slaved, three more Great Beasts appeared.
One was born of churning sea.
One was born of stout land.
And the last was born of the sky.
The son of the Sea set forth to spread the oceans, the son of land set forth to spread land, and the son of sky simply protected his mother, like all good sons do. The beast of 1000 arms was so impressed by the Son of sky's loyalty, he erected a pillar where the Son of the sky could rest briefly.
The son of the Sea met the Son of the Land, and the two struggled for supremacy. The son of the sky took pity on the two, and broke up the battle. The Son of land took refuge in its mothers womb. The Son of the Sea took refuge in its mother's womb. And they still sleep there to this day.
They world was soon inhabited, by the first ones. The Beast of 1000 arms blessed the first with the gift of shape-shifting. They flourished and enjoyed making mischief, and the Giant was a particularly fun victim.
Eventually the giant got fed up, and crushed one third of the first ones. The first ones did not die, but became the Formless. Simple creatures that could only morph into what they see. The giant then pulled apart the land, and created three sons before going to sleep.
His first son refused to go to sleep.
His second son decided to take a nap.
His third son went into a long slumber.
After the lands were split, the seas spread, and the air became calm the Beast of 1000 arms and all of his sons slept, but without the influence of the creator the first ones lost their ability to change their form as they see fit. One third of the first ones were formless, one third of the first ones were stuck in their changed forms, and one third remained the same.
The first ones separated and began to colonize the world.
And so the age of men began...

Since my collection of PC games is growing substantially, I've been considering getting a new Graphics Card. The problem is, my knowledge of computers is barely above I accidentally deleted the internet".
I tried looking at Graphics Cards but all I see is a FUCKLOAD of Numbers and XS and Z'. And it doesn't help that I often hear about graphics crads requiring extremely advanced cooling thingamajig, or they'll catch fire. On top of that I don't know how to install drivers, and if I fuck that up my whole computer will end up taking a dirt nap.
I was considering buying Alienware, but I've conflicting stories on quality. I KNOW its overpriced, but I've heard horror stories about them being DOA and tales of them lasting quite a while.
I've considered building computer from the ground up. They said it was like Legos, but I've seen the YouTube videos, those ain't Legos.
I was just wondering if the computer guru's of Bay12 good suggest a modest graphics card. I don't want to run Skyrim on max(I don't even have the desire to play it.) I just want something that can run modern games at a playable pace. If you feel like that's too much spoon feeding at least set me on the right path.

Yes, I've seen the "falcon" guide, but I don't even know HOW to research a good computer component.

-Edit:Silly me, I should explain the game.
Devil Survivor is a SRPG crossed with a traditional turnbased RPG. Squads of 3 faceoff against squads of three on an isometric grid. When squads engage the game "switches" to a turn based battle similar to Etrian Oddesy or other SMT games, the squad members exchange blows and the skrimish ends. To kill a squad you need to kill the leader, but just killing the leader nets you less EXP and Macca(Money). Killing his/her subordinates gets you more EXP,Macca, and makes the leader harder to kill.

DF Gameplay Questions / Turning off Necromancer Invasions
« on: March 05, 2012, 06:48:28 pm »
Will turning off invasions in init stop necromancers from screwing with you? Also, are they invisible? I had corpses in my main base be raised with out a necromancer in sight and I was in a normal area. I want my city to be a CITY before some jerk raises some rib bones to kill me.
