DF Adventure Mode Discussion / Ability to grasp lost

Well, due to a bad encounter with a wolf, I lost the ability to grasp in 1 hand, and while running from boogeymen I lost the ability to grasp with the other hand. I also ended up dropping most of my food to get my speed back up while I ran. Will nerve damage ever heal so I can butcher animals? or will I have to live off of berries I steal from peoples huts from now on?

DF Gameplay Questions / Can't make Pig Iron or Steel

I have flux (or so the wiki tells me), I have Iron, I have magma forges, but I can't make pig iron or steel. This is with the latest version of Lazy Newb Pack ([0.34.07] [V12]) and phoebus tileset.

Is my game bugged? I googled the problem and found 2 error reports of people encountering this same problem, but there were no solutions, but I'm not sure if I'm just missing a step or something.

DF Gameplay Questions / Goblinite Questions

I'm fairly new to the game and have a basic understanding of how some weapons and some materials are better suited for different tasks, but I have no experience with exotic weapons. A few recent ambushes have left me with a number of copper/silver flails, morningstars, whips, scourges, and pikes. The only weapons grade ore I have available to me is tetrahedrite, meaning I'm stuck with copper battle axes and silver war hammers.

How do the goblin weapons compare to my warhammers and axes?

I'm also melting down all of the iron goblinite they bring my way, I have flux and everything needed to turn it into steel, would it be better to turn into weapons or stockpile it until I have enough for some sets of steel armor?

Lastly, what's the best way of disposing of the clothes and other junk the goblins bring me?
