Neon Genesis Evangelion related stuff ahead! Watch for possible spoilers, but guaranteed stupidity.

In EVA, there are 3 major divisions in the NERV characters. The ones who fight, the ones who command, and the scientists. Out of the scientists, there's only one that really matters. Ritsuko Akagi. But, the only reason she really matters is the ending. Then there's the other scientists. What do they even do? Do they just sit there, watch the screen, and wait for someone to go "IT'S AN ANGEL!!!!!"?

This game is about them. The guys who didn't matter in the grand scheme of things, but they still have a story to tell.

You're that techie. You know, the one techie. You watch the screen, sit under Ikari, and try to pretend you matter. But, hell. You've been at NERV long enough to know that this place was the definition of dead end job. Too old, not to mention too emotionally stable to get in one of the big robots, not Ikari, Dr. Akagi, or the field commander. Katsuragi. Even if you were in the security detail, you'd at least have somewhere to do, but you had to go and sign up to be one of the technicians. It sounded interesting, at least. Turns out, it's a lot less examination of the EVA's internal mechanisms, and a lot more sitting around and staring at screens. The big one, then back to your smaller one. Then back to the big one, then back to the small one. No wonder some people bring magazines.

Christ. How long had it been since the last angel attack, even?

You open one of the drawers on your metal desk and pull out some papers. Leafing through them, you find the ones you want eventually. It's your own file, and your contract. Occasionally, you've considered just ripping the contract to shreds. That wouldn't do anything though. You move onto the file.

It's censored. From yourself. Only at NERV would they be so secretive that they would keep information about yourself, from yourself. Initially, it sort of made you scared. What could they know about me that they'd want to keep from me? But, it doesn't really matter in the long run, right? You take a look at the attractive face gracing one of the papers, before looking at all the text beneath it.

Protagonistium: A Case Study
The Hero RTD

It's the 1980's. There's insane hair, glam rock, Madonna, Micheal Jackson, and E.T. Oh, yeah and the whole threat of thermonuclear war in between the USSR and the United States. I suppose that's the most important thing. After all, it actually has to do with the game. So, the Cold War. You and your allies are, unfortunately, right in the middle of it.

For some reason or another, you were nearby the fall of an all-american hero, more commonly referred to through the world as a protagonist. When they died, they left behind a neon blue, glowing gel, which slowly seeped into you. Then, you felt your consciousness fade to black. When you woke up, you found yourself, and a group of other people laying in a hospital bed, with a man in a lab coat speaking to you.

Creative Projects / SFM Help Thread
« on: December 03, 2012, 11:32:57 pm »
This thread is for anyone having issues with SFM.

For example, I cannot edit animations using the Set Animator. Whenever I try, it just brings me to the element viewer, and I can't manipulate using joints.

I heard that we used to have a TF2 server here on B12. Is this true?

God, it's incredibly boring on the way to work.
WHAT DO YOU DO TO PASS THE TIME?

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / I don't know about my doctors training...
« on: November 16, 2012, 07:48:21 pm »
So, I've been playing the orc fortess mod recently. I look into my impromptu hospital, and see the doctor looking over someone. I take a look at her wounds. Missing a leg from the shin down. He takes a few seconds to check her.

"Yup. Looks like you've got a bad case of missing limbs."

You are 8-bit. You are no ordinary 8-bit character. You hunt glitches. You travel in between games, seeking and destroying various software errors. You don't know why you do this, and you don't know how you resist the glitches. You just do.

You were based off an actual character originally, of course. Who was that? How was he or she changed in order to hunt glitches?

Forum Games and Roleplaying / You Are Ventriloquist

*Sigh*
As you wipe the rotten fruit chunks from your face, you give a deep frown... Another failed showing. What could be wrong with your act? You have a dummy, you have your jokes, and you even have a funny suit... Well then, may as well give it one last shot. Don't want to admit you're a failure for a ventriloquist just yet, but that low level administration job application is staring you in the face. You've already filled it out, but you won't give in yet... Anyway, what does it say?

How the hell could a minimalist RTD need an OOC thread? Anyhoo, here it is.

The dead lights above you hang silently and ominously as you pass through a wrecked hallway. The dirty, torn up floors you step on sounding far too loud. Luckily for you, your foes are much more audible.
"Freeze."
Or not. Placing your hands in the air, you turn around slowly, your eyes closed. When you open them, you see...

Forum Games and Roleplaying / You are a Word-Play Wizard
« on: September 14, 2012, 11:12:03 am »
Literally. Or at least, you are now. About five minutes ago, you were some farmer who happened to cross paths with a dying word-wizard. He mentioned something about goblins, an orcish uprising or another, but then hey! He gave you his rhyming dictionary and his wand, then died.

Before you could use the wand to fix your shortness, by making you a "cut above the rest", a rustling came from the bushes and some dog-person things showed up, swinging little daggers. One of them giggles cutely at you, before twirling his weapon.

WAT DO?

NOTE: This is going to be stupid. And offensive. And possibly bannable. Don't think so though.

You remember the wars. You remember all of them. Barney vs. The Telletubbies. My Little Pony vs. The Carebears. Just a few. You can't forget them either. They're burned into your head like the bible into a Catholic Student. Where ever you look, the memories are there to greet you. Tinky-Winky, lying in a pool of his own ichor, Baby-Bop and BJ lying beside him, enemies in life, but so similar in death. Sun Bear, forced to kill his kin in the face of the Equestrian magic. Equestria, naught but a burning ruin, razed and ruined by the force of the sun and moon themselves. Nothing remains of that realm. Nor of the others. Perhaps some survived, but you've never seen them. Neither antennae or scale, nor hair nor tail remains, at least not that you've seen. All you've seen is ruins.

The odd thing is, that's all you remember. Nothing before, nothing after. No family. No friends. Maybe you imagined it, but it certainly doesn't seem that way

The irony strikes you then. The power of imagination, corrupted and abused, until it became a weapon. And now, you have to pick up the pieces.

Who are you?

OH MY LAWDY LOO.

Those are in-game graphics, through the entire trailer! It's for PC too! I can just plug my PS3 controller in there, and get a MGS4 experience, on my gaming desktop! YESS...

It looks like a follow up to Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, which I was playing habitually right up until my PSP broke, so I'm ready? Are you guys?
