So, I haven't seen any goblins so far, not so much as a snatcher. The liaison last year gave me this earful of news. I imagine that this means the goblin horde is coming. Legends mode tells me that "The Ruthlessness of Bridging" secured tribute from the dwarves at Boltedhails. Can I expect them to stop at Boltedhailed, or not?

Look, down here, and on this forum in general, we're all on the edge of the bell curve in one way or another. The thing is, I'm on the edge of the bell curve here, too.
An intelligent conservative on the internet. We're rare, but we do exist. We're the ones who jump in to defend atheists from young-Earth creationists. (something I actually did once) We generally try not to wave our political views in people's faces, which can be hard on forums where people kinda forget that we exist.
So when I see some saying, (The following is a dramatic exaggeration. Your mileage may vary. Void where prohibited.) "Oh, conservatives are teh evullllz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" , it's hard for me to not jump in with a verbal chastising.
Just sayin'.
Anyway, just my verbal rant. So please, consider the feelings of conservatives, too. And besides, aren't liberals the ones who care about endangered species? The intelligent internet-dwelling conservative is in danger of dying out!

Okay, there's been all of these threads organizing Bay12 Team Fortress 2 games. But, I don't think that there has been one for Mann versus Machine yet.
Ladies and Gentlemen of Bay12 Forums, I put it to you: join me in beating Operation Gear Grinder, the most difficult Tour of Duty available!
You will need:
-3 tickets (at one dollar each). These allow you to play on official Valve servers and reap the benefits of such.
-(optional) any number of Squad Surplus Vouchers. Redeeming these means your teammates will receive additional items upon completing the mission.
-A halfway decent internet connection
-a good loadout
-M4D 1337 H4XX0R 5K1LL5

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Chinese Dwarf Hamster

So, my sister got a Chinese dwarf hamster for Christmas. After observing it for close to two months, I have reached a disturbing conclusion: it is not actually a dwarf. Although it burrows, it does not go very deep. It lacks a beard, and does not drink alcohol. How it does not even know how to work metal! How can I remedy this? How can I teach it to be a proper dwarf?

So, I am taking a Web Design class. I really hate it, and wanted Programming, but there were scheduling conflicts (I have 5 honors classes, so my schedule is a bit less flexible than average), so here I am. I have got all the assignments done the same period they are assigned, and just finished cross-linking all my pages just to show off. (It's not that complicated for me, but the teacher doesn't know that yet.)
Fortunately, the teacher is allowing me to do additional stuff for extra credit, so my question is: what are some good ways to show off with HTML or CSS?

For those of you who aren't aware, the United States military can get in deep doodoo for "discriminating" against women, i.e., not enlisting them in the same capacity as men. Equal rights and stuff, right? Women should be able to do the same thing as men, right?
Here's the kicker. The physical test that women have to take is a lot less difficult than that for men. Thus, women who are incapable of performing equally as well as their male peers are still being enlisted and being sent into combat situations which they are incapable of handling.
Your thoughts?

What are your favorite creepy bits in games? Here I'm not talking about games that are just plain creepy, but rather Easter Eggs or unintentional glitches that cause quite the creepy. For example:
1) In Luigi's Mansion, nevermind the fact that the game takes place in a haunted house, there is one scene where, if you wait long enough during a dialogue box scene, the lightning effect will flash and you see Luigi's shadow apparently hanging from the ceiling.
2) In Fallout 3, there is an entire side quest that references the works of H. P. Lovecraft, with an obelisk that makes chanting sounds and a mind-warping book. The above is also referenced in a set of audiologs that concern a fellow following his father who has the book. See also: crashed flying saucer broadcasting alien signals. Seriously.
So, what are yours?
P.S. if anyone has the definitive lowdown on the FO3 "numbers station", I would really appreciate it. I know that that is apparently a hoax, but I still would like to know where that started.
