How can I get the 0.23 and the 0.28 versions to move faster? I'm getting 30 fps at most with them.

DF Modding / Harder alcohol industry
« on: January 26, 2012, 10:19:46 am »
I made this custom reaction for the Still, basically you need 1 bucket with water, 1 plant and 1 empty barrel to produce booze, and only 1 unit of booze is obtained... oh, and no seed is recovered, so you have to manage your plant resources better. No more swimming in plump helmets and plump helmet spawns.

Just put this in the reaction_other.txt (don't forget to add this reaction to the entity you desire):

[REACTION:BREW_ALCOHOLIC_BEVERAGE]
   [NAME:Make an Alcoholic Beverage]
   [BUILDING:STILL:CUSTOM_V]
   [REAGENT:water:150:LIQUID_MISC:NONE:WATER]
   [REAGENT:bucket:1:NONE:NONE:NONE:NONE][CONTAINS:water][PRESERVE_REAGENT][DOES_NOT_DETERMINE_PRODUCT_AMOUNT]
   [REAGENT:plant:1:PLANT:NONE:NONE:NONE][UNROTTEN]
   [REAGENT:barrel/pot:1:NONE:NONE:NONE:NONE][EMPTY][FOOD_STORAGE_CONTAINER][PRESERVE_REAGENT][DOES_NOT_DETERMINE_PRODUCT_AMOUNT]
   [PRODUCT:100:1:DRINK:NONE:GET_MATERIAL_FROM_REAGENT:plant:DRINK_MAT][PRODUCT_TO_CONTAINER:barrel/pot][PRODUCT_DIMENSION:150]
   [SKILL:BREWING]

DF Modding / Some modded personalities FUN
« on: January 18, 2012, 02:14:56 pm »
I modded 3 castes (workers, soldiers and nobles). Noble caste humans have a reclusive and conservative personality, in addition to having a very low modesty.

In just one season, one noble crumbled my fort from 22 humans to 6, just because he held grudges with pretty much anyone, getting annoyed by talking with them. When he destroyed 3 chairs my sheriff gave him a beating. Then he proceeds to go berserk and kill one of my soldiers who happens to be my sheriff's wife. Sheriff goes stark raving mad and kills the majority of the people, including an elven caravan, their guards and the elven diplomatic, before an improvised squad of 6 beat him to death.

So, I'm gonna play more with personalities, what are some interesting ways to mod them?

DF Modding / What is the skill for wood cutting?
« on: January 18, 2012, 12:50:56 am »
When I try to put in a creature [NATURAL_SKILL:SKILL:LEVEL] I tried to make a creature to be a wood cutter with level 2:

[NATURAL_SKILL:WOOD_CUTTING:2]

But it doesn't work. I've tried with WOODCUT, WOODCUTTER, WOOD_CUTTER, but none seems to work. Is there a list of skills used in this tag anywhere? The wiki does not show any of them.

DF Modding / Using barrels of animal blood
« on: January 16, 2012, 01:35:56 am »
Is it possible to use animal (and possibly goblin and elven) blood in some custom workshop? Like some kind of religious sacrifice to obtain a godly reward. I've been thinking to implement a religious mod using bloody sacrifices but honestly I don't know how.

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Embarking in Untamed Wilds

And trying to create a village with humans... was just a bad idea. Giant badgers boars, black bears and giant lions everywhere. But it was fun after all.

But there were no dwarven civilizations in the worlds I generated. What could be wrong?

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Collecting rain water
« on: December 09, 2011, 06:07:45 pm »
I can't into it  :(

Is there a guide on how to make cistern or well where my humans can drink water? Every time they go to the river they drown or are dismemberd by infected.
