DF Modding / Different book types.

I am looking for a way to make dwarves create stone tablets as a book scribing tool.
 Does anyone know how I would go about that?

been considering giving subterranean people atlatls (spear thrower) and javelins as another more threatening ranged weapon.

thoughts on what sort of stats I should give the attack?
