DF Suggestions / Expanded alcohol industry

Something that I would like to see is the brewery workshop split into the brewery and the distillery. An expanded alcohol industry would allow surplus crops to be converted through fermentation and then distillation into high value, low volume luxury food items. Suitable only for special occasions, royals, and medical purposes as a disinfectant. I am not a programmer, but this seems like it would be a relatively simple thing to do.
