DF Modding / Creature corpse -> another creature?

Is it possible to use the ITEMCORPSE tag in a creature to drop another living creature? I had the idea that this could be used for multi-part boss-esque monsters, that just when you think you've killed them, shed their former husk to be a new more powerful thing, or a demon-possessed villager or creature that, when defeated, spawns the "original" benign creature.

Goes without saying I don't expect things as fancy as, say, lopped off limbs translating to the "dropped creature" or decapitations killing both. Heck, it worked for Xinchub...

    Toady One, are you TRYING to delay my mod till the end of time?!  :D

    (in case I didn't say anything about it before, I'm trying to make a mod inspired by Armok's Hornet mod, that introduces a new civ with a new language as well as bunches of other foxes to compete with Toady's gibbons. I'm serious, I have everything from fennecs and crab-eating foxes and hoary foxes, to [GOOD] and [EVIL] aligned critters and magma-dwelling fiery foxes (not called firefoxes so as to distinguish them from red pandas))

Yes, it'd be kind of pointless. But wouldn't you like to make sugar glass windows? Make clothes out of spun sugar for your nobles then watch as their clothes dissolve the moment they get a little exercise? Or encrust your favorite +microcline mug+ with rock candy!  :D

Title says it all, really. We've got lead. We've got rock crystal. Let's do it to it. (Lead oxide replaces calcium/sodium/potassium oxides from the pearlash.)

I don't know if there's a single thread for these, though I've seen them in other threads. Real-life news stories that sound like something out of Dwarf Fortress.

First up: A house built over a cyanide pit in China collapses, killing 9. If ever we can build beds on top of bridges over the magma river, this will happen!
