I've been fiddling with this for the better part of a year now. My intent has always been to share, but I keep putting it off because I want to toss on just a bit more polish. Well, today I did that. Here you go!

The shared link is read-only; to use it, go to File -> Make a copy. That will duplicate to your own Google Drive.

Personally, I keep a clean copy with 7 tabs (named simply 1..7) and make copies of that for each embark, renaming the file to match my fortress, and the sheets to match my dwarves. On each migrant wave I add new tabs for the incoming dwarves, and every few waves I'll check for skill improvements among the old citizens. (Why yes, I do think I might be obsessing too much over the details.)

About a year ago I slapped together an 8x8 font from bits and pieces of classic sources. I'm a big fan of data density, but I've finally admitted to myself that at 1920x1080 it's just too crowded. I set out to create a 10x10 version for fullscreen usage. So much changed (and got back-ported for consistency) that it basically became a new font... at which point, what the heck, let's change some more!

This is a clean and simple font. I've focused primarily on readable text, easy distinction between similar glyphs, good spacing/alignment, and consistent appearance between the two sizes. Within all those constraints, I've also tried to make it pretty. :)

Potash is hosted at the dwarffortresswiki.org tileset repository.

Preserved for posterity: the version below has its underscore on the very bottom of the glyph. I eventually moved it up one pixel, to more easily distinguish dig and channel designations.

And here's the short-lived first 10x10 version, with a different zero.

DF Modding / Another 8x8 font, huzzah!

Wiki won't let me register but I wanted to share so what the heck. Not sure if this is the right subforum, but close enough, right?

100% ASCII. I call it Pastiche because it's a mix-and-match of characters from the CGA, Acorn and C64 fonts from the wiki. A few characters were edited and dozens were adjusted left or right by a pixel or two so they all align nicely on the map.

And now I should probably sleep. :(
