Ello! Here shall be the first attempt at an "AI Game," as proposed by DwarfMeister here:

basically, everyone plays the fortress for a year, the same year, and the best (by vote) fort is then used in the next round

The rules are as follows:

this form of play lends well to joining late, so feel free to jump in if you can submit a file in time :)

also, I'm not sure how to name this thread, so please tell me :P I assume we'll put in the fortress name, once its been finalized

we are a couple days behind the sunday- wednesday schedule, but I don't think the first year should take too long to play and write about, but if we need to extend playing time, that shouldn't be too much trouble. The first few weeks probably will smooth out timing issues. Anyways, post if you want to participate, and get started!

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Murderous Danger room..

My danger room keeps a-killin me dwarves! I even took it down to 5 spears, of the lightest wood I have, yet still they are impaled upon the spikes! I had not this trouble in my last fortress. They keep getting 'lucky' hhots in the head. For some reason none of my dwarves will wear the helms I made them, which I think is the trouble. Yes, I assigned them to wear it. Why won't they?!

My fortress is getting boring. I need more fun. Is there a way to change the surroundings to terrifying? Or change 'Calm' to behave the same as terrifying?

DF Modding / How to make 'foreign' armour and weapons

Would it be possible to allow dwarves to make weapons considered 'foreign', such as scimitars and what not?

I recently struck me first adamantine vein, and would like to replace the foreign weapons my militia captains have with candy ones.

DF Modding / Adding limbs to dwarves based on gender

I've never modded anything so...

Lets say, hypothetically, one wished to create more anatomically correct creatures, so that, hypothetically, battles and whatnot would have more entertaining injuries. Lets say, hypothetically, male humanoids had an extra arm, while female humanoids had two extra arms. Where in the raws would one enter these limbs, and how? I'm assuming it would have something to do with these 'castes'?..

Howdy! I'm sure this has been asked before and researched, but how many Z-levels does a dwarf need to fall to guaranteed death?  I.. ask this for... completely innocent reasons.. uh.. to make sure they DON'T fall this far.. yeah, thats it..
