DF Bug Reports / Knockbacks go through statues and floodgates
« on: January 30, 2007, 07:44:00 pm »
I found yet another way to lose dwarves: set up your barracks next to the chasm, and get some hammerdwarves.  When the hammerdwarves train, the occasional hit will knock their opponent back, and occasionally into the chasm.

I tried to fix this by building statues to close the holes in the barracks.  No dice, they still fell in.

So I built floodgates in front of the statues.  No dice, they still fell in.

(I haven't actually SEEN this happen---but only hammerdwarves are falling in, and my barracks has some walls open to the chasm.  And it hasn't happened since I moved my barracks to a different, non-chasm-touching room.)

Maximus noted on my wiki talk page that he's seen ratmen get knocked through raised drawbridges, too.

DF Bug Reports / New Stockpiles: booze is meat!
« on: October 30, 2006, 03:18:00 am »
In a small attempt to prevent the caravan's meat from rotting before I could get it decently stockpiled, I set a specialist stockpile that only stored meat.  (And after checking here, I set it to not store prepared food, either.  Why on earth is Prepared Food not just another category?)

So the dwarves cheerfully hauled their newly-brewed Dwarven Beer 300 spaces, past TWO different food stockpiles (one mostly full, one mostly empty, both left over from before the upgrade, and thus set to all food), to make sure it was filed improperly in the meat-only pile.

DF Bug Reports / Reclaimed over-size farm ignores walls
« on: January 16, 2007, 12:06:00 am »
I present, for your enlightenment, a mild bug of no particular severity.  When you reclaim a fortress with a farm built in an area too large for it (say, if you were particularly bored and made a pretty "vanity fortress"), any oversized farm is displayed on top of the walls that it might overlap.

The horror!  The horror!
