DF Bug Reports / [39e] 'Bring Item To Deport' job ignores Labor

I've got 10 dwarfs with all hauling jobs turned off. The still trying to help when merchants arrives and all haul trade items to deport. This is annoying :(

DF Suggestions / Improve mass-forbiding through stocks screen

Currently when I try to mass-forbid stone blocks from stocks screen while items are grouped by type, i also forbid blocks which was used in workshop's construction. This makes workshops unusable for dwarfs.

It would be nice to make mass-forbidding through stocks screen 3-state and toggle them by F key:
1. Unforbid all
2. Forbid Only UNUSED stuff (not including weared/used in building construction/etc. stuff)*
3. Forbid all

* - this one currently unimplemented

DF Bug Reports / [39c] Wounded did not wake up after healing

Wounded continue to rest after complete healing, then they become thirsty, hungry and no Give Water/Give food jobs generated for them, then they simply die from dehydration or starvation whichever comes first.

DF Suggestions / Pile for "melt" designated items

It would be nice to have an option in stock pile settings to include only "melt" designated items for faster objects melting.

Currently furnace operator sometimes need to travel through entire map to pick up single steel bolt.

DF Bug Reports / [39b] Masterwork bone bolts (again?)

I've got a bulk of 5 masterwork turtle bone bolts loaded into my crossbow trap. When goblin stepped into it two of them was destroyed after the shoot. And now i have a suicide bone carver :(

Seemed to me that was fixed long time ago. Or am I wrong?

DF Suggestions / Improve mass construction

Currently mass construction in 39b version of DF allows you to place walls/floors/etc. like farms or bridges up to a maximum size of 10x10. But if something overlaps part of a constriction zone, placing that construction is totally forbidden.

Let's say I have a maze:

And I want to fill the empty space between the walls with floors. Currently I have no other way except by building floors in each corridor separately. Currently, when I try to build a large floor block that partially overlaps the walls in my maze, it denies the  placing the floor. However, when I try to build a farm plot in this maze, it would allow me to as long as it was continuous.

It would be nice to have such behaviour for mass construction too, instead of .

DF Suggestions / More control over water pressure

It would be nice to add special construction which would use stone block and 1-6 pipes to reduce water pressure effect. This construction could be build like wall constructions but have pipes mounted to allow water flow trough it. Depending fewer pipes means more pressure reduction. This could be used to make waterfalls use fewer water or making slow-death chambers.

I.e. artificial waterfall could look like this (side view):

Water in the chamber drained trough floodgate. In current DF when floodgate is opened, water will flow instantly leaving only bottom level of tank filled. With pressure control wall water will flow through it slowly leaving enough time for screw pump to refill the tank and also limiting amount of water used in the same period of time.

Flow strength could be increased by adding more pipes to construction (up to 6, which means minimal flow speed reduction).

Also it could be used on power plants to reduce amount of water under water wells. so water flow under them will be constant without reaching 7/7 level

I've found this design 100% isolate all the dwarfs from contacting miasma:
1. Dig out room for future stockpile (first image)
2. Place a pile as shown on second image
3. Remove all unneeded pile tiles as shown on third image
4. Place doors (fourth image)

Now all miasma locked in it's individual 1x1 room and it's still one stockpile so you can manage it's settings easily

Well... extra space but no miasma contact at all even for refuse haulers.

Hello.

I've got no idea what to do with trapped animals. I've tried to butch em but it does not work

Also taming them does not have effect they simply disappeared.

Please give me some advice  :)

DF Gameplay Questions / need some help with vertical axles

Hi. I've played previous version of DF and likes it very much. This version adds tons of new features and possibilities. I'm trying to make use of this, but i have some troubles transferring power between z-levels. i.e. i have my wind-mill on Z-level 0 and i want it to run the pump on z=level -5. I was trying to build a vertical axles to it but having some troubles: power only transfered to axle right beneath the mill and didn't want to go any further. i've placed vertical axle right on the flor. Maybe i should dig channels for them and place 'em on top of each other? please help me to resolve this trouble. I need to get water out of my z-level -5.

How to make them pickup more than one arrow at once. Is it possible to stack arrows again after they was fired? I've got my marksdwarfs running with one steel arrow in quiver and returning to stock pile to pickup another one when fired this one.

I've got 6 workshops burning thanks to dragon's visit. They was made from wood logs. When do they burn out completely? or I should think about pumping water on them?
