DF Gameplay Questions / Artifact Picture Discrepancy *New Question*

Okay so my dwarf just created an artifact earring. When I checked the artifacts I noticed that the previously made amulet actually had an image of the, at the time not created, artifact earring on it. What the heck? Have my dwarves invented time travel or something?

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / WTF just happened.

The miner's head skids along the ground, bruising the muscle and shattering the skull through the ( llama skin hood)!
The miner slams into the dwarven baby.

There's blood all over the ground around a ramp covered with a hatch, the miner is several tiles away in the process of passing out every few seconds.

The baby is nowhere to be seen.

What the hell happened?

So i just had, for the first time ever, a mechanic moody dwarf who produced an artifact mechanism. Is there any practical use for this mechanism besides placing a lever in a room to increase value?

So I captured a few kea's trained them, caught some more and now the trainers won't train the new Kea's. I don't think any thing has changed and I have plenty of animal trainers idle. What exactly are the requirements for training wild creatures? I tried the wiki but couldn't find any reason it wasn't working.

Okay so now after over a season of Idling one trainers has decided to train a kea.

Nevermind he was just re-training one of the first kea's who had reverted to a semi-wild state.

Does anyone knmow why I have "Town" on my neighbours screen at embark? I have never seen or heard of this before and I don't think my little tweaks would have caused this.

DF Gameplay Questions / Trading with other civs of same race?

Does anyone know why it is not possible to trade with other civilization's of the same race? I.e. trading with another civilization of Dwarves in vanilla DF.

I assume it is something hardcoded but I am only a novice modder so I may have missed something in the raws.

Edit: Basically why can we only trade with one civ of each race per embark? Surely those three-four other Human civs nearby have some goods to trade.

DF Modding / How to make Civ hostile?

I was hoping some might be able to point me in the right direction here.

I am trying to make a race hostile/warring with another race. I messed around with religion and spheres but couldn't gen a world with the Civ hostile.

Any hints/tips would be greatly appreciated.
