Before now, you weren't.
Suddenly, you are.
The world around you is empty.
You are empty.
The floor feels cold.
It feels hollow.

This is all very puzzling.

What do you do?

Welcome to ye olde tavern, the Twelfth Bay.

Many people of all kinds come and go here. Magicians, adventurers, heroes, and bandits alike. So it's no surprise that you, a petty thief, has graced the tavern with your presence.

Your objective is to profit as much as possible from the tavern, in any way you can think of. Steal, get a job, sell your body, whatever. Just be the richest person possible.

Leaving the tavern is usually impossible. Magic makes it so. There are a few ways to eventually do it, but for now you should just focus on stealing whatever isn't nailed down.

Roll To Dodge / Astraeus-Lunar IV
« on: October 03, 2015, 07:52:19 pm »
Astraeus-Lunar IV
The most advanced space station ever designed.
It is so technologically advanced that almost every single piece of maintenance is done by robots, without human interference. For the most part. While the robots maintain the space station, the humans take long naps in cryo-stasis, frozen solid in a state of both permanent life and permanent death.
However, there is one little naggle to the whole idea of an entirely robotic maintenance: It occasionally malfunctions. In order to work around this, the station automatically wakes up the astronauts for one day each year to have them perform their own maintenance, mostly on the maintenance robots. This involves repairing damage, de-bugging code, and fighting off the occasional boarding party.

The Astraeus-Lunar IV, or the ALIV, often called "Alive", is slowly heading towards Mars. It's only purpose is to escort a total of six astronauts, three males and three females, towards its destination. Upon reaching the surface, the crew's objective is to set up a matter-transposition-reflexive mainframe, more commonly referred to as a teleporter. This will allow them to bring further human population to the red planet, and to colonize it as a whole. The main reason of this expansion is that Earth has been tapped almost dry: Iron and Nickel have become valued commodities while Copper is practically a thing of the past. A few drops of Oil would spark a world war, and most of the oceans have been refined into fresh water for consumption by a bloated population. The common people think that once humanity arrives on Mars all members of humanity will travel to the planet and colonize it anew, like a New Earth; Only world leaders and the astronauts know that less then 0.001% of the human population will actually be allowed on Mars: This includes the most physically fit, mentally fit, and of course, all the world leaders.

Your job, as the Astronauts, is to obey the commands of your on-ship AI, to obey the commands relayed to you by the world leaders, to reach Mars, and to set up a self-sustaining base on the planet before deploying and activating the teleporter stored on the ship.
You won't be alone out there: Several terrorist groups and a few of the countries which have descended into anarchy have already launched several small shuttles on an intercept course to your craft, and the computer has been set to wake you the moment they set foot on the ship. As this was not foreseen, the ship itself was not equipped to deal with intruders, and you are armed with only minimal weapons: A small handgun was included in every astronaut's locker, but the real weapons will be the systems of the ship itself. Opening bulkheads and airlocks to jettison intruders, deactivating gravity at the right time to send them hurtling into obstacles, and re-working on board systems into traps. Your minds will need to be as prepared as your weapons to survive this.

Good luck.
You are humanity's last hope.

Don't let it down.

Six players will be accepted. As per the lore of this game, half must be male and half must be female. At least one must be a biologist and at least two must be mechanics. Architects and guards would be useful.

Roll To Dodge / Settlers [Turn 5]
« on: August 10, 2015, 07:21:39 pm »
Welcome to Arstok, a world completely untouched by the likes of man. The first thing you can recall is existing on the surface. You've no knowledge of modern technology, the most you can recall being the basics of survival. However, this is not about mere surviving. This is about thriving.

[Welcome. This RTD is my attempt to create a more open, less guided RTD than the usual one I do. Most RTD's I create die, either due to a loss of player interest, or me being a terrible terrible GM. I'm hoping that this one will help me revitalize my old RTD-running passion.]

In the world of Arstok, no one is superior to another just by basics. Everyone begins equal, albeit clothed, and everything up there will be to you. Will you stick with the group, or will you split off and attempt to scrape by on your own. Will you form a political system with rulers, or will everyone remain equal forever. [This RTD allows players to set up their own government, and make whatever decision they want. I just plead that any decision you make be based on a system of roleplay. Also, please don't go on a killing massacre from turn one. If you do wish to kill everyone, at least wait until you have motivation.]

[This RTD will have a weird time system. The first turns will take course over a few minutes. This will proceed until you have all the basics of survival established: Source of Food, Source of Water, Shelter, and some kind of tool to protect yourselves from the creatures of the world, most likely a crude stabbing device. Once you have all that done, the turns will begin to take place over longer periods of time, probably hours. Once you have a more stable shelter, domesticated livestock, et cetera, turns will begin to take course over days. Once society has developed, they may take years and decades as technological development takes over.]

[The world of Arstok is unlike Earth in many ways. The soil is pitch black, and the grass grows a pale shade of blue, but glows when it rains. The chemical makeup of the world is almost identical however. The flora and fauna are much different and have adapted to their specific niche in many ways. I will not name them, but simply describe them to you. It will be up to you to name them. You can either call them "Big Teeth Rat" for example, or something more mysterious, like "Fretsa". I don't care. Just don't call them "$h!t%u%king!"]

Character Creation:

Name: [Do I really have to say what this is?]
Sex: [Male or Female]
Physical Description: [Tall and Strong, or Stout and Fat. Blonde, Brown Hair, Green Eyes, Attached Earlobes, be as descriptive as you want.]
Mental Description: [Likes and dislikes. Think of it as creating a dwarf fortress page. Leave this minimal at the moment: Just put in some very broad categories. As you explore the planet and discover fauna and flora you can add which ones you like or hate from experience here.]

[I don't decide who you are in this world, you do through your own actions.]

[Rolls will be done in a typical D6 sense: 1 = Tragic Fail, 2 = Fail, 3 = Kinda Fail, Kinda Succeed, 4 = Succeed, 5 = Succeed Greatly, 6 = Either Awesome or Terrible, depends on what you were trying to do.]

[I'll try to keep updates daily or once every two days, but expect the first few turns to be pumped out as quickly as possible to set the stage.]

Roll To Dodge / Roll to be a Cell! (Terribly Illustrated)
« on: June 06, 2015, 06:13:21 pm »
Right, so I'm in a period where I have a lot of finals right now. I set all my games on Hiatus, but that made me feel almost evil, so I decided to make an easily updatable game. This game is "Roll to be a cell!". In this game, you start out as a basic Prokaryote, or a bacteria, and you try to become a Eukaryote, or a normal cell, eventually becoming multicellular. The way you will do this is by absorbing food and other cells and using the mass inside of them to evolve. Evolving takes a full turn and will diminish your size. Alright, simple enough, let's get started.

Character Sheet is Easy.

Scientific Name of Cell:
Common Name of Cell:
Starting Trait: (Photosynthesis, flagellum, cilia, etc.)
Preferred Color:

Oh, and from the first turn on, I will be illustrating this game. Why do I do these things to myself?!

Roll To Dodge / Roll to Hiatus! [Blimp Down, Mayday!]
« on: May 30, 2015, 06:32:47 pm »
In this universe, everything is completely safe. The walls are fluffy and the ground is bouncy. Humans cannot hurt each other. The government is incredibly nice. Which is why you people want to die. You want to die in the most spectacular way ever, but that's very difficult, as everything is so damn harmless. Your objective is to die. Dying gets you points which can be used to buy upgrades for yourself, or debuffs for the city's life protection system. The points will be decided by both how quickly you die, and how spectacularly you die.
There is no character sheet, to join just type "Spawn" and I will give you a starting location.

Oh, and I forgot to mention: The society is very futuristic, and Magic is possessed by everyone, but is not the most powerful thing ever, and can not be used to cause harm to anyone.

Points:
Fallacyofurist: 12
Blazing Glory: 13

Point shop coming soon.

Roll To Dodge / Roll to Survive the Collapse of a Dwarven Fortress!
« on: May 04, 2015, 03:58:37 pm »
This game is exactly as the title states!
You are a dwarf in the prospering fortress of Dewcarts when everything begins to go wrong!
Aaaaand...

Most of you probably somehow contributed to the incident. But considering the fact that everything is currently !!GOING VERY WRONG!!, hammering will probably be suspended indefinitely!

Sign up Sheet:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Yeah, I'm taking on another game. Hopefully this one won't die like many others I've tried to begin. Hopefully, with this one being DF themed, it will gain attention and you guys won't let it die.
Also, if you're wondering what caused the fortress to collapse, I'll work it out using your characters :P
I'll probably max out possible Dwarves to 8 per game. Assume multiple rounds, with survivors possibly founding the next collapsing fortress.

Roll To Dodge / ROLL TO BE A PLANT
« on: April 07, 2015, 07:09:50 pm »
This is my first RTD of THIS kind. The kind I call "Minimalistic and pointless". Woohoo!

You can be any plant you want.

You are a plant in a meadow. There are several grazing animals nearby. What do you do?

Roll To Dodge / Adrenia [Medieval Hiatus]
« on: February 28, 2015, 02:13:32 pm »
Since the beginning of time, wars have been fought over the rightful rule of the underground kingdom of Adrenia. It all began centuries ago, when the first humans entered the cave through a hole in the roof, into the water. Ever since, they have bred, grown, and shaped empires. The first battle ever recorded was a debate over a mine rich in copper along the border of the Astorian Kingdom and the Eldarian kingdom. Eldaria won the battle, but one thing quickly led to another, and soon Eldaria and Astoria were in all out war. While the Beronian empire tried to stop the war, the Meronian empire fuled the flames, and sold weapons at high prices to the opposing sides. The war ended a century later with a peace treaty. However, by that time, the Beronians and the Meronians were at war over another disagreement. In the end, the empires finally agreed that in order to settle their disputes, they needed one true leader. That was where the agreements stopped for a while, as all the empires fought over the right to rule. A massive keep was erected in the middle by the Beronians, who claimed that whomever ruled the keep ruled all of the kingdoms. Shortly afterwards, the Meronians overtook the right to rule, then the Eldarians, then the Beronians again. Only a few short years ago, the Beronian king, whom had encouraged peace, reduced taxes massively, and pushed the kingdoms into a golden age, was assassinated by a Meronian spy, who then opened the gates, and let his kingdom invade. Ever since then, the kingdom has been ruled tyrannically by the hot-headed Meronians.
And where do you all fit in?

You are Astorians. The only race to have never ruled the kingdoms. And today, Astoria is declaring war on the Meronians!

You are soldiers, youths of the tender age of twenty, give or take a few years. Some of you are Beronian refugees, while others are trueborn Astorians. Among your company there are even a few Meronians who could not bear to live with their tyrant king, and defected. You are suiting up for war.

The Armory
You stand in the Armory, being assessed by the "Captain", presumably of your new division. He asks you a few questions, but seems disinterested in your answers anyways.
((This is the character sheet))

"Name?"
"Age?"
"Empire of Origin?"
"Motive for fighting? Were you conscripted? Or did ya sign up?"
"Got anyone back home you're fighting for?"
"And now onto the important stuff. What sort of armor do you prefer? Do you like the typical chainmail of our soldiers? Or would you rather something heavier, like half-plate, or full plate armor? I suppose you could have something lighter, too, but it wouldn't stand up well to a sword."
"Alright, and what kind of weapon do you want? Have any preferences? Or shall I decide? For wee recruits like you, we can spare a sword and shield, an axe and shield, a small warhammer and shield, or some kind of ranged weapon. Oh, and we also have a few spears somewhere. I think we have some light spears, and some heavy, anti-cavalry spears."
"Alright then, all done. You'll be in the fifth unit, all of you together. Huh. Lucky buggers, seems like there's a senior mage already in that unit. You should be safe for now, unless ye get transferred. Heh. There are ten units under me, all consisting of ten soldiers. I command one-hundred men, while you can barely command yourself. Now get moving. You're moving out in the morning. I think you'll be staying in a guardhouse on the wall today. Ask around for Tafrin the mage."

((Just a note, please keep everything somewhat medieval. I do not want someone to show up and try to name their character "Poketwo" or "Scyther" or something, HINT HINT.))

Graveyard

Delekates: Got knocked out by enemy spearman, then had his head stepped on by friendly heavy infrantry. He will be missed, by Kull.

Hall of the Injured

Kull: Kull was injured in the same fight as Delekates, with several broken bones, and permanent injuries. He will likely become a commander in this stead, as he earned much honor in this battle, decimating enemy infantry and commanding fear like an axe.

Play With Your Buddies / Minecraft Minigames!
« on: January 18, 2015, 07:40:40 am »
Hey everyone!

This is a bit of an off-shoot of the Minecraft Dwarven Fortress idea. Us dwarves will infiltrate a shotbow network minigame and work as a group as a team. We'll probably use the bay12 TeamSpeak a lot, and you should only participate if you have minecraft.

Here's how it works...
Player A wants to play a game. They say-
"Name of minigame-[blank]
Name of server-[blank]
What TS channel they'll use-[blank]"
Player B sees that this thread has a new post, checks it out, and joins the TS channel. Players C, D, F, and Y do the same. Player E goes and lies down (Lol). They all play a fun round of [blank]. Afterwards, player A returns and edits his post to say that it is over.

Roll To Dodge / The Cave [Exploration and Fighting RTD]
« on: January 06, 2015, 03:24:16 pm »
THE CAVE

Welcome to the cave! This is an RTD that centers around Exploration, combat, Roleplay, and survival. Here's the general story:

The Cave is set in the Medieval age, meaning that guns and things like that do not exist. Please do not reference modern occurrences. The most advanced bit of tech you know about are crossbows.
You are a group of children (With ages going from around eight years old, to the eldest of you being fifteen.) who entered a forest nearby your town, seeking a hideout for your mischievous games together. You discovered a cave, and entered. That's where you are now.
Assume that each of you know each other enough to know each other's general backstory.
Feel free to build on to the plot in your own constructive ways. Just don't derail things, and don't do things to affect the gameplay, like conveniently located a hidden escape route in a trap, where I have not mentioned an escape route existing.
Without further ado, here are your character sheets:
Spoiler: Character Sheet (click to show/hide)

Traits will affect what makes your character really unique. I'd like to ask that if you see that someone else already took a trait, do not take it unless it's really necessary to your character development, or you have NO other option.
Spoiler: Traits (click to show/hide)

I'll take five players for now.
Magic may or may not exist in the world. As far as you kids know, it's rumored to exist.

Other Games / Minez 2: Those Damn Necromancers!
« on: November 05, 2014, 04:26:42 pm »
"They came from the North"

That's pretty much all the plot that Minez 2 gives you.
Minez 2 is a gamemode parody of DayZ created by shotbow, and it's done in minecraft, although it has few similarities to the normal gameplay, and playable at us.shotbow.net
It's fun to play, and a new release, so I thought it would be cool to set up a dorf thing in it.

Here's the plot for US.

"Once, dwarves were common in the world. They populated underground cities, and roamed human towns. After the extinction of the elves, though, bad things started to happen... Totally wasn't our fault. Apparently, a necromancer and his acolytes took the chance to resurrect all the bodies of those terrible dead monsters, and turn them into zombies! They then released these monsters upon us! We must fight back, and kill the elves agai- I mean, for the first time"

Here's how it will work. We'll form sort of a clan, and set up in one town, which we will decide as a group. If you die, then simply wait for us to revive you, or make your way back to the town if no one is around to save you in time.

Roll To Dodge / Wizard's End (Reboot)
« on: September 01, 2014, 11:46:15 am »
"Greetings. Welcome to the combat fields of Wizard's end. My name is Maloc, and I am the founder of this place. I am currently over three-thousand years old, and this tourney field is almost as old as I. However, looking at you, you youngsters seem to be bursting with youthful energy. Why, the oldest of you is only 54! Ah, I remember how foolish I was back then. I thought that the boundaries magic could achieve were so much smaller than they really are. Ah, well, enough of that. Welcome again to the combat fields. I can see you're all raring to go, so we'll put you into a tournament soon. However, let me simply check over your information again. Please, show me your sheets describing who you are, once more. The one thing magic can't solve is my poor old memory."

Spoiler: Character Sheet (click to show/hide)

((I'll take 8 people, I think. Much more will come soon, just fill out the char sheet for now.))

Roll To Dodge / Worms: An evolution based RTD (Illustrated!)
« on: August 01, 2014, 08:34:30 am »
Hello! Welcome to my RTD! This will be a 5 player RTD that uses a D6 to decide how your actions turn out. If you are unfamiliar with RTD's, click the spoiler below to see what each dice roll means.

Alright. Mechanics time.
You each start off as a worm, gathered together in a small underground pocket of air. You're completely surrounded by dirt for now, and you have no food. But that's okay. You gain nutrients from the dirt as a worm. However, you don't want to be a worm forever, do you? Nope! Every turn, for every player still alive, you will earn one evolution point, or DNA. However, completing certain actions and objectives will earn you more DNA: However, these won't be listed, so just do whatever you would expect what you are to do. Once you've accumulated some points, where will you spend it but the evolution shop! These evolution purchases will be decided as a team. Anyways, this will also be illustrated! Please forgive my terrible art skills.

If you want to join, simply post a name for the worm you currently are, and an action! DNA point counter will start at the first turn, and the DNA shop will be editted in to here once you can afford the first upgrade.

This is you at the moment!

And this is your evolution. At the moment, you're still a worm!

THE EVOLUTION ZONE!!!
New things will be added when you get more DNA, so check back often!

One Unjointed Leg: 5 DNA (Max of 8 of any leg type allowed)
One Jointed Leg: 15 DNA (Max of 8 of any leg type allowed)
One Mouth: 20 DNA (Max of 1 allowed)
Two Antennae: 10 DNA (Infinite allowed)
Two Wings: 35 DNA (Max of 3 pairs allowed)
One Stinger: 20 DNA (Max of 3 allowed)
Upgrade Stinger Venom: 10 DNA (Max of 5 allowed) Each purchase will raise cost by 10 DNA points
Increase size: 20 DNA, will raise by cost of 20 DNA each time bought. (Infinite purchases allowed)

Most of these will unlock additional upgrades as well, so check back after something has been purchased.

This is another forum game based off the general idea that one person responds to the person before him, then places his own action two lines below. This game will involve someone putting an innocent action, and the next person saying how it could end in a death, and then placing their own idea.
Here's an example:

Poster 1: I start this game
Poster 2: The crazed fanatics of bay12 take the game too literally, and chop you up.

(Poster 2's innocent action here)

I'll start.

I pet a cute deer.
