DF Adventure Mode Discussion / Will we be able to build?
« on: February 08, 2014, 02:35:09 pm »
In the next version, there are things like site claiming and taverns. I know you could reclaim a fort or just claim an already built castle as your base but what will happen to the Inns and taverns? Will they be normal buildings in a town and you must step in the bar walk up to the current Barkeeper and heroically battle it out?

Also i kinda want to build an Inn on the side of a road, far away from the city. Sort of like a stop for travellers, heroes and caravans, to rest. And then make a "special gnomeblight drink" to defend myself from mountain gnomes. Or retire and visit it with your new adventurer to save yourself from the bogeymen, man that would be cool... Oh God...i cant wait... plz toady plz

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / The Dwarf who fled from home
« on: November 27, 2013, 01:48:10 pm »
Hello Everyone,
So i was just playing with my most succesful fort and was looking my over 300 dwarves running around in my fortress. It was a good feeling :D But then i came across my "Hall of Heros", where my favourite dwarfs got memorialized. I was reading and then suddenly i came across Mosus Oddomtangath's slab again. He was my first Armorsmith and his demise was very mysterious. He went missing. Curiosity struck me and i looked up on a backup save in Legends mode. And then i saw it. He fled, he fled from home. It reads there that in 134 he became a member of the "Hatch of Culminating" and then fled into the Hill of Trammeling...
What happened? He was not a baby or something. I never saw such a thing.

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / The Headless Hero
« on: November 24, 2013, 12:29:06 pm »
So, i was browsing in Legends Mode after some cool guys who made something epic, so that i can meet them and fight them.
After some search i found this guy:
Adet Tuggedcolor... what's so epic about him? He survived an attack from a giant lion. Well kind of, i think...because he not only lost his right arm and his nose, he also lost his head.
Is this a bug? He still lives and the last thing we heard of him how got obsessed with his own mortality...Haha good joke.
After the fight he also became the "high lobster" of "The sunken Denomination"...What is the game trying to say? What is this madness?

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Famous dwarven last words
« on: October 25, 2013, 03:46:11 pm »
I wonder what my miner said when i breached the magma wall...well i think nothing because his face got melted but, what do you think? What would a dwarf say if he dies in a typical dwarfie way like magma to the face or gobbobolt in the face or trousers in the face?
I'll start:
"Oh come on guys their just Elves, they use wooden spears, wooden swords, wooden armour, wooden bow-*headshoot*" Dodok Kerligurdim, the second leader of The Ropes of Sacrificing. About his opinion on the elven military.

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Weak Megabeasts?
« on: September 09, 2013, 12:08:25 pm »
So, i'm playing DF now for over 6 months and i totally love it. It's just this epic game that just creates epic stories with epic characters and got that epic community that makes stuff like fucking Boatmurdered or Morul.

But i have a question: Are semi-megabeasts really that weak?
Once i had a fortress called Libashrimtar, Axecastle, aaaand i was quite noobish at that time so i totally freaked out when i saw: Oddosp a two headed Ettin has arrived !
I immediately activated my burrow, closed the floodgates and waited for an bloody end..but then i discovered my "only" mistake. My pasture with my 5 dogs and one hunting dog was still outside and Oddosp was too close to get them in. So, i was quite sad but i said to myself: " We will die anyway sooo...". But then these dogs, these Cacame-blessed dogs, charged at Oddosp and totally biting and scratching it apart.
After six pages of constant: "The stray hunting dog scratches the Ettin in the head bruising the skin"-messages i decided to help my dogs and putting an end to this quite embarrasing fight for Oddosp. I opened the floodgates and send my ULTIMATE SUPER MILITARY out, also known as "The Dyes of Oiling". They finished it then. No-fucking-body got even scratched and after i peed myself a few times i just kept playing.
There is an other story of a giant getting killed by a huntsdwarf. He only needed 4 (!) shots.
So my question is now: Was it luck or are these "mega"beasts actually not that "mega".
