DF Gameplay Questions / Legends mode & History reveal
« on: March 31, 2017, 04:29:16 pm »
Question: is it possible to uncover full history of an already generated world without exploring everything by adventurers?

Reason is that I have an old 0.34.11 world that I'd really like to read in full glory (long-going adventure with good companions).

Roll To Dodge / Roll to Die: The End of Times - Labyrinth

Roll to Die

The End of Times has come.

For thousands of years, this world lived to its fullest. Different races waged wars on each other, civilizations were raised and fell under the sands of time. Magical beasts roamed its lands, while powerful magicians experimented with earth-shattering powers. But now... Now it's time for this world to die and give way to a new one. Death himself has decreed this.

Servants of the Death already cleared most of the world from life, but in the end, it was deemed unnecessary for all mortals to die by their hands. So, a Final Battle of sorts was arranged - for the world to end in a blaze of carnage and glory instead of simply vanquishing into nothingness.

Death is all but inevitable... For how long would you survive?

DF Adventure Mode Discussion / Arrows, colossus and other WTF moments
« on: April 25, 2014, 02:52:07 am »
So, while arrows in DF are quite overpowered, I encountered several instances when it was not quite so... And at least one example of just amazing lethality. [I don't use any mods that could have possibly affected it]

(sadly, lost the proof for another one, when bolt glanced off from the eyelid)

Yes, the same arrows that tear through bones and muscles like butter... Such occurences are quite rare, but still highly amusing.

This one actually made my day. I have previously read many topics about colossi being unkillable by archers and up till this moment that proved to be true.
Shot was made by a legendary+11 bowman, from a masterwork bronse bow. He is superior or high in most important attributes, but, as I know, it doesn't affect archery calculations to any visible extent.
