There was a huge update for this game earlier today and I'm actually quite surprised not to see a big spike in chatter about it here

I've been playing it for a while now and it's not without it's flaws but I like it.

But anyway, I just realized that I got a steam coupon for it worth 25% OFF that's only good until tomorrow, If someone want's it just send me a PM (with your steam account name) and it's yours.

There was this multiplayer game that you played as a member of a spaceship crew, everybody had a position and a job and there was also an alien masquarading as crew that was trying to secretly sabotage/infect the other people.

You could pick diferent character that had special habilitys, and I seem to remember that it played like a web game, where everyone had like 8 hours to submit thier turn/actions.

I've been trying to find that game again and it's consuming the life out of me and driving me mad(er)

Hopefully you guys can help,
thanks in advance

Other Games / Object in Space --- 2D Elite meets Silent Hunter
« on: June 30, 2018, 12:29:11 am »
I'm surprised I have not seen a post about that game, I don't have a dog in that race, I just feel like it's something you guys would apreciate.

Be forewarened though, it is supremely buggy. Times 10.

From the website:
Quote
Objects in Space is a modempunk stealth space-trading game (...) You are a lonesome ship’s captain, buying and selling wares in order to keep your bucket of bolts afloat and stay one step ahead of pirates, organised criminals, corrupt governments and shady laws.

Combat in Objects in Space sees ships treated more like submarines than dogfighters. You’ll be running silent, planning manoeuvres far ahead of time and engaging in deadly games of cat-and-mouse with nebulous enemies.

You will command your one-person ship from the captain’s chair. Encounters happen far outside visual range, so rather than close-quarters space shoot-em-ups, you’ll be poring over magnetic, gravimetric and radiation scanning arrays trying to locate tiny boxes of metal sometimes flying at millions of miles per hour massive distances away hoping against hope to get a missile lock.

I'm not fond of early acces and that's why I held on fanfaring about this sooner but now that it got a Steam release I feel like it's a good time to come out with it. It looks to me like a niche passion project that hopefully will see fruition, eventually. It does crash all the time though, but if you can live with that you'll be rewarded with cool gameplay and atmosphere.

There is even a manual on how to build an Arduino powered game controler for it, simulator style, and that is super cool to me.

Anyway, don't take my word for it and just look up these links;

Here is a cool video where Scott Manley plays a bit with the "simulator" set up

RPS have been following them for a while now:

Other Games / Invisible Inc (and giveaway)

So while everybody is waiting for Satellite Reign (http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2014/03/14/syndicate-remake-video/) I stumbled on Invisible Inc which seems quite interesting, though I can't really tell much about it at this point because it's still downloading.

It seems to be a tactical, techno-espionage-type, isometric, turn-based stealth game.

Have a look at http://www.invisibleincgame.com/

Now, the clever devs gives you two copies of their game when your purchase the Alpha so guess what I am going to do with my 2nd copy;

Rules:
- No escaped lunatics, No account newer that this post;
- You have 24h from the time stamp of this post to apply for a chance to win;
- One application per person please;
- If you make up a clever haiku that makes me laugh you get two tickets (it must have been spawned in the beautiful meander of your mind, don't copy it from the mighty internets), everybody else get one ticket;
- Winner will chosen randomly and will be contacted through this forums PM and will be given a steam key.

If you bought the game and wish to give your second copy away feel free to reuse this post and change the rules, please just wait until my giveaway is over.

I don't think you need a house and a stone to start a guild. Just press the 'Guild' button on the paperdoll and pay the 12K fee

That would be correct; no mounts, rune books/house deeds are not blessed, skill gain is slower (for a freeshard), 700/100 skill/stat cap, no power scrolls, stat loss for PKer killed by Pker killers (paladins), nerfed gold drops, custom houses will be expensive when implemented, no ista-hit bows, not heat seaking explo pots, no insurance, absolutely no neon hues.

As I said; Hard Core, Old school, Uncompromising, very Dwarfy.

What is there not to love?

So does anyone know about the housing limit yet?

From the Wiki:
Quote
Housing
UO An Corp features a 1-house per account rule, but players are allowed up to three accounts per IP address.

Custom houses will not be available at server launch. The addition of customizable houses and/or new house designs is planned for post release.
Citizenship

Being a citizen of a town certainly has it's benefits, and one of them is being able to own property within the town limits.
House skill rate is 50% for normal characters, and 100% for O/C/B militia members.
Note: House deeds (just as anything else bought from NPCs) are significantly cheaper as a citizen of the town you're purchasing it in.

In light of certain exploit at launch they changed the rule for 2 accout per IP

I think that one of the main appeal of this game (and why it should be of interest for the nice Bay12 people) is that it's brutal and unforgiving. You start with a rusty dagger and 15 cents and as soon as you venture out of town you get killed by a player 200 times stronger than you. And if you manage to save enough for a nice sword someone will come along and steal it from you. And when you die you lose everything that you carry on you.

But if you stick with it, learn the mechanics and work on your skills eventually you can do whatever you want. Start a metal work empire, a guild that control a town, a magic portal library that will take people anywhere in the world (for a fee). But nothing is really ever out of reach and if you work hard enough you can get anything you like.

On one shard I was leader of a mafia type guild that made player vendor pay protection money so we would not steal from or kill their customer. That worked well for a long time but eventually the traders got together and attacked us, we hired a bunch of player killer to our aid that quickly defeated them, then they got bored and killed us. The whole economy crumbled for weeks until a bunch of new players seized the opportunity to take control of the market. The traders made a pact with us to help them cripple the new players supply lines while we were still struggling with the player killers on our back. It went on for months, the plotting, the back stabbing, the scheming, the politics... It was the most awesome time I've ever had with a game.

Then there was the introduction of some mechanics to prevent the rampant stealing and non consensual killing. A new breed of player came in and the old guard left in disgust. A few free shard tried to keep the old rules and survived for years. UO An Corp is a new iteration of such shard that look to be very promising.

Hard Core, Old School, Uncompromising.
Very Dwarfy

I'm strangely excited about this. I used to play a lot from 2001 to 2005 on a bunch of freeshard. I'll definitely give this a try. I even made a character on another shard just to get the hang of UO back.

I know I'll be getting some comments about how inadmissible it is for me to bring this game to your attention so let me go with a quick liminary declaration:

I hereby most solemnly promise and swear that I am in no way affiliated in any shape or form with the game nor anyone involved with it;
And that I am not a bot (I am certified 80%+ Human)

This being said, I can't believe that a game being described as 'part single player Space Station 13 and part sci-fi Dwarf Fortress' by RPS passed below everyone's radar.

It is yet another Kickstarter campaign and they are going for the dreadfully hipsterish retro futurism (hopefully when they get an artist it's going to change for the better) but it's a sci-fi sandbox base-building with z-levels and RPG elements and all. Maybe it's just trying to tick all the boxes and I'm not fully sure how this one is going to turn out but I wanted to hear you guys opinion.
