I watched someone (Kruggsmash) start getting that after being explicitly cursed with a lycanthropy variant after repeatedly rolling. That character received that 'sealed' message every time they tried again subsequently. Another character in the party was not affected.

Another note: first the character was cursed with a week of bad luck. The sealed message did not begin to occur until the werecreature curse was applied.

Understandable. Should you ever have the time and the want to work on that, I'm happy to help. I couldn't do much with the core dump either as I'm not a developer primarily - I'd personally be nearly useless in this regard without debugging symbols - but helping you build yourself a basic Linux virtual machine is certainly in my wheelhouse (I'm a linux sysadmin by day).

I'd personally prefer goblins were just very long lived instead of immortal.

Fortunately this isn't too hard to do!

Look in raw/objects/creature_standard.txt and locate [CREATURE:GOBLIN]. Add a [MAXAGE:X:Y] token, where X is the minimum normal lifespan in years, and Y is the maximum. Humans have '[MAXAGE:60:120]' for context. If the token is absent, they are immortal.

If you provide a wide range, like say '[MAXAGE:20:2000]', you'll find goblins live very long in general, but do have a chance of naturally dying young. We don't know the distribution details, but I believe the assumption is it's linear.

DFhack already works for the new versions. Since more than a week. Or two?

Those are alphas and I wouldn't advise people to use them unless they're already familiar with dfhack.

I would love you almost as much as an elf loves their trees if you'd consider "translating" the flowery "in-character" language to plain english :D

Particularly the dwarven-themed technique names. Ick.

It would be wonderful if someone could take it up to translate that all into plain non-RP language. It's difficult to understand what any but the basics are going on about in the prose everyone is using in there.
