can someone here teach me how to use the source code?


i'm trying to learn by myself until someone can teach me
I've been there.  I spent a year studying the source code, and I'm only now getting the hang of it.
-.- kinda impolite spamming the threads with this request, though.

C++ is hard.  It's known for being the industry standard, but being around since the 1970s has given it a lot of... character.
Unless you are already familiar with coding in general (and C++ in particular), I don't recommend Liberal Crime Squad as a first project.

Forgive me if I sound severe, I am excited to see a new face in the community (even if I don't like Halo, all my friends do...)

sorry if i was being impolite i really didn't mean too D: it was just that no one was replying to the first help request thread (not the mod thread) that i created cause i didn't know how to do the coding for the code source the thing is that there's no LCS source coding tutorial videos on youtube D: since that's where i get game fixes,tutorials,etc and there's no video tutorials on the LCS wiki (even though it said they were coming soon pfft a lie or lazyness if i ever seen one) it would help out alot if someone who knows alot of about LCS source coding and take some of their time to make LCS source coding tutorial videos on youtube and plus it would decrease the amount of time to learn the code the hard way and we would be seeing alot more mods on the LCS forums e.e



and oh i'm using your version of the update of LCS to try and test out some coding since i'm interested in your custom pickup lines and custom new game features I really hope you don't mind me doing that  :-\

Per C standards, default return type of a function is int if none is provided.

In C++ 98, and, spekaing of which, in post-1990s C versions, there is no is as default return type.

Curses / creating new non lethal weapons and bases and base upgrades

so I've been having alot of trouble with trying to create non lethal weapons for example a sleeping gas grenade or a non lethal shock grenade or a dart gun with sleeping darts but i need 2 effects that are needed for this 1.sleeping/knocked out effect 2.stunned/knocked out those are 2 of the main troubles i'm having with the non lethal weapons


and I'm also having trouble putting in custom bases and custom base upgrades

and i'm also having trouble with add member wizard due to the fact i don't know how to see the return types and parameter types from other functions like can_take_hostages() const


so can someone tell me on how to properly do these things

I'll be really grateful if you helped me

how do you even make actions like kidnapping in source code?? cause i think i found the thing to make the action but i don't know what to use for return type and parameter type to use for the action

the thing is i want to make a sleeping gas grenade or a non lethal shock grenade to use on enemies and mutant animals or even kidnap the president with it

I'm willing to pay with money for teaching me and leaving notes in case i forget on how do to do the source coding


since it's only me and one of my friends doing the halo mod i need someone to teach me to do source coding for LCS

Wow, this is quite the mod. I'm wondering how you plan on making the design for it.

I'm the author of the Terra Vitae mod, which does all of these things that you mention, so I can say that I've done them all. However I know nothing about Halo other than that it is a first-person-shooter in a space opera setting featuring a war between a human civilization and an alien one, so I will need to know more about what you mean to do for the custom laws (also, note, if you are trying to capture the Halo feel to it, then you will probably also need to restructure the entire political system instead of just the laws, unless the government in the Halo universe has exactly the same structure as the United States government).


and do you happen to have skype and the reason is i like to work with you both on this mod and yours

and plus i'm planning on making the mod be set in the liberal crime squad story but with alot of modded and edited stories and instead of the liberal crime squad being called that ingame it would be the Sangheili alliance/rebellion or somewhere close to that and I'll also be adding easter eggs to find as a extra bonus and rewarding your time to find them

I'm planning on making a halo mod i already got a few weapons and armors and 1 halo themed dropship and the custom ammo for the custom ranged weapons but i need people who has the know how on using the source code and making custom buildings and player bases and cities,etc

I got alot of things planned for this mod but i need people who are willing to help me

(here's what i currently got planned i'm using to take suggestions when the mod reaches the alpha stage)

12.ability to assassinate targets from a far (like the president or any troublesome npcs)
13.suicide bombing command while in battle if you have any explosives

16.new skills
17.new weapon types (explosives,plasma,hard light,etc)
