DF Modding / Re: Kingdom Death: Monster Mod?

It'd have to be loosely based, the whole founding population created ex nihilo and fighting off a ravenous antelope monster with sharpened stones thing and slowly discovering things as basic as language and names and there being no source of resources except monster carcasses is not really supported by dwarf fortress at the moment.

Oceans: If you set the biome settlement and support stuff to ocean biomes they will have their first site spawn on the beach somewhere and build more sites under da sea. As far as I can tell the game doesn't support underwater sites properly at the moment and they won't show up if you visit them in adventure more. They should function like a regular civ in all other respects though

Sites: Yes you can change what types of sites a civ uses in their [ENTITY] entry under [DEFAULT_SITE_TYPE:] but they come in sets that can't be altered.

They're things called quotes, since they're quoting someone talking about software development and having no updates perhaps they are quotes of Fenicks having met with Josh and having no progress to report.

Met in a public place. (for his safety?) Didn't see a build. He's "doing the best that he can"

Yeah. No update. I could have posted literally nothing but that seems even worse.

DF Modding / Re: [MODDING] CREATURE & ENTITY QUESTIONS THREAD

I know that, I'm asking if there's any decent options for tallying up the relsize percentages against the total creature size so that it'd be easier to calculate things like how much you have to add to the creature size to keep their bits the same size after adding more parts to them.

Are there any good programs for for calculating how big a bodypart will be at a given creature size?

If a civ has a big enough number of jabberers megabeasts and demon princes will be ripped apart by angry giant emus if they try anything.

Opened this up in world viewer and seeing the exact dates of these events makes it look pretty strange. The forgotten beast moves to Roarcastles in 20/2/214 and becomes part of the Silver of Hair, the site he destroyed Indigowhip has an expedition mounted to reclaim it in the same general span of time, but that happens two days after he moves to Roarcastles. Other than it being some kind of glitch in how the game handles the population of reclaimed sites I'd be at a loss to explain it.

Also the Silver of Hair is extremely ha'ak to be resettling Indigowhip with humies. Not a single dwarf to be seen.

Charity offers a shirt if you give them money
Give them money
Don't get a shirt
If you take against this you're the dishonest one
why do you put special moral burdens on the consumer?

No one whose opinion matters holds that view Egan. Go read the terms of use.

Kickstarter is quite explicitly not gambling. While crowdsourcing is still rather untested legally, failure to deliver has and will continue to be a good way to open yourself up for lawsuits.

Man when I see that game development has somehow ratcheted back from an imminent open beta to an unplayable pre-alpha tech demo my blood just boils at the nerve of those uppity backers

Apparently KDG are planning on releasing what they actually have by august. As this involves ripping even more out of the build Fenicks poked with a stick I'm not sure why it'd take so long or even why they'd bother.
