I commandeered another layout file and pasted in the code again. Now I have success! DT works! I guess I added a .txt or changed the file type last time even though I thought I was being careful not to. Here's the new log.

Tentative untested Therapist INI files for Dwarf Fortress version 0.44.02:

Windows 64-bit:

If you decide to try using these, please provide feedback!

Where do I paste this text? I usually just download the latest LNP, so I'm not sure where all the code goes and what it does. I tried pasting the x64 Windows code into a memory layout file in the 38.1.0 experimental DT and renamed the file v0.44.02_graphics.ini . But DT still can't connect to my fort. Here is the log:

People see my screen and think I'm hacking North Korea or something.
Shhhh. Don't tell. We've come so far.

Really? Mostly these days DF seems to still have the reputation of being incomprehensible but divine in content. People think we're doing rocket science, while all we really is set up a plump helmet farm, set up military and then go fuck around the caverns.
When I tell people I play DF, they either go "What's that?"--or begin bowing down in (misplaced) awe. Really, guys. All I do is mass produce rock crafts and attempt to capture and tame every animal that wanders onto my map ever.

I thought those secrets got created originally on slabs, which the first necromancer then found.

Another update, another wait for the mods to catch up.  Such is the brutal cycle of the Starter Pack....  :'(

This is how Skynet begins. I approve.

Love the addition of autogems. I used to find cutting all the gems I found so tedious. A, C, R, A C R + ad nauseum. I do agree that it should be clearer how to toggle it on or off, entirely or by specific workshop, but quite pleased and grateful with the plugin as is.

Now this is a blast from the past. I couldn't stop playing the original when it came out. Thanks for the chance to play it again!

@hawkwing I think you're remembering Neoquest.

I'd like to see more work done with ages. It seems like my worlds never get out of the Age of Myth. This is a little surprising since I dial up megabeasts to "very high", but I also have never run world gen for more than 600 years.

I can't tell whether I found the magma sea or if I embarked over a volcano. No candy yet but I've got one central spire of magma beginning around the 2nd cavern.

I'm normally paranoid about caverns, and I wall them off right away, but this time I'm going to try placing a barracks where I breached the second one. Free training and loot? Free training and loot.

I have also not seen any "monster hunters" visit yet although I have plenty of poets and mercenaries. Scholars appear to be rare, although my current pride and joy is a goblin scholar who works my furnaces when she's not in the library.

I have this interesting human hammerman citizen called Cadi who married another human citizen. This wife, Tod, died in the last siege but Cadi is unconcerned, as is the human child they bore, Endok, two years after they apparently married in my fortress. Endok dreams of making a great discovery. Cadi spends his time worshipping gods of misery and torture and not giving a flip about his war wounds. He only sticks around the hosital long enough to grab a crutch and then he's off again, sometimes without a cast or sutures.

I have had no crashes, and I don't haven't touched any of the mouse control plugins. My fort has been going six years now. I mainly use autolabor, cleanowned, and clean, plus of course the search functions, and Soundsense and Therapist.

I've been using this pack since I started playing Dwarf Fortress over a year ago, and it's about time I said thanks. I appreciate the work you put into it, PE, along with the other modders/maintainers/testers. I have actually had no issues with the bleeding edge packs so far even while using DFHack.

Hey. Normally I lurk here but I finally registered to respond to your post. If no other solutions work, I can offer space on the server of a site/forum where I am head admin. You would just have to register and I'd give you your own section where you could upload each file as post attachments so they'd be hosted there.

However I think you can do the same on the DF/Magma wiki. Some stories are already immortalized there, like the elf king of the dwarves and Boatmurdered.
