This is also possible if you massacre (kill pretty much everyone) in the mountainhome, and you are an adventurer from  that civ.

Goblins are already playable in vanilla, that's not a feature of this mod.

This is only partial true (at least to my knowledge). Goblins are only playable if they have integrated into non-goblin civs (generally short history worlds have goblins unplayable).

opening up the caverns and hell (which never made sense to me they were always open just invisible, suddenly they are a problem when you make them visible),

Amostubal, this is likely because that is now a valid area for dwarves to path, whereas it was previously treated just like a layer filled with stone.

There already is potato wine, also, what yam are you referring to? Yams on the wiki the dfwiki doesn't seem to say anything about this, but I know that it can be wrong.

Apparently the humans aren't doing well in my world. They sent me a diplomat, who also happens to be their law-maker. I checked their other nobles, and they have a Criminal as their war-leader, a general, and that's it. I get the feeling that the 'diplomat' is more taking refuge than seeking diplomatic ties. Then again, my fort is the only dwarven settlement left in the world (and I have the queen) so I'll say that the leaders are here to discuss the goblin threat.
