Tilesets and Graphics / Re: 16-segment tileset

This is a fantastic 16-segment display tileset! Certainly better than the one I attempted and deleted lol. Really helps complete the vague assemblage of retro-display tilesets the community has!

BucketsofBuckets and Wannabehero, ya'll both made my day today! I'm glad you find genuine use out of the tileset, which admittedly was a bit of a gimmick in-line with other retro sets. I actually saw a 7 segment display set today too. An idea I had, but abandoned cuz it wasn't looking good. That one looks far better!

Fantastic Thread. Also a great place to see some of the older or more unkown tilesets that are still good!

I hope you finish it up!

Subject: CANDY-TECH VFD-45-80-std Order and Amber Color Options

The CT-VFD-std was selected by our engineers for its durability and low costs. Our company is interested in brokering a manufacturing order with Candy-Tech.

Unfortunately, the current color options do not fulfill all of our needs. If your company can produce an amber colored display, Raeborga Inc. would be interested in purchasing 50,000 units.

RE: CANDY-TECH VFD-45-80-std Order and Amber Color Options

Our engineers have formulated phosphors which meet both the color requirements and our rigorous durability requirements. Tooling is complete and manufacture starts this work week.

Candy-tech is excited to have helped another customer. We hope to broker future deals.

Should any issues arise, please contact your Candy-Tech Rep.

Just use this website - it's my favorite:

Incidentally, are there DF players who routinely use a monochrome or grayscale palette?

I'll use a monochrome color scheme if I'm not using a graphics set. The default color scheme with default ASCII is a bit hard on my eyes.

Neat! Thanks for bring this font to DF.

Are ASCII graphics not retro enough for you?

Is the wonderful CRTEGA graphics pack not taking you back far enough?

Do you miss the time of do-it-yourself  8) rock 'n' roll  8) electronics?

Then our CANDY-TECH VFD-45-80 is for you!

Note: I also like Vherid's Lazer and Ash color schemes with this set. Infact, my monochrome sets are heavily inspired by his Ash colors.

Some Goals next week: Mess with transparency options for the inactive dots to produce a slightly finer dot matrix.
Mess with the LCD character array color scheme.
