I usually need it to be symmetrical, functional, and pretty. I have abandoned more than one fort due to unexpected olivine or mudstone.

I started in a goblin fortress (in fortress mode) in the hopes for a little guaranteed demon action (there is also some pits in the area somewhere. I collapse my wagon, haul ass into the mountain and when I go to check on my dorfs? Friendly goblins! Hell, even the demon is friendly! I expected a vanguard against dwarven invasion not understanding neighbors!

Does this mean I'm going to get invaded by other goblins?

My mayor like lay pewter. He has done nothing so far but ban the export of lay pewter items. Needless to say I don't have any lay pewter but I am thinking of importing some to make him a nice thank you statue for his bedroom.
